Isn't this battery a little large to fit in the battery box for a F bike ?

I use it in the X....for some reason this size has more power than others....
Ironically....I have to put spacers in the X battery box to run it....

More of a gauge to see what y'all could find....

CB750-1100 battery boxes won't normally handle more than the regular 14Ah ETX15L type battery that fits them. If you take the door off and make a strap to hold the battery, or modify the door shape significantly, and alter the battery wires a bit you can get one of the 18 ah batteries to fit. Certain 1/2 U AGM wheelchair batteries can work in a rearranged fitment as well, they are also 18Ah, and can be bought for about $35. They aren't actually rated for motorcycle use, but will run the hell out of the starter and other facilities on a bike quite well. One guy has one strapped in with the door removed, under the side cover.

I suppose a better installation could be done, but that is a big battery!

I run a AGM Half U1 , 18AH . About $37 at my door . Ebay .

The battery box 'gate' was rusted beyond use when I bought the pile of junk , for $40 , that's now my bike .
I cut the gate off and use a Velcro strap to secure the battery . It's a bit longer and narrower than the stock battery , but fits inside the side cover without a problem . I also have to use a high class southern yellow pine spacer which renders the battery immovable .
The battery is currently in it's 3rd year of use with no sign of failure . I do disconnect the cables during the winter .

I think he sold that $40 umm... asset, after a few years of improving and riding it, for a substantial profit. Very Happy

The CBX originally came with a spacer in the battery box. The only original spec battery that fills the CBX box without a spacer is from the Goldwing.

No shit? I did not know that. Learn something everyday.
The reason I run a 20L in the X is that the correct battery has 90 less CCA.
This Taiwan cheapo is 50 more than stock.....

Speaking of ETX15L, BatterShark has a great price for the AGM battery.

I noticed it's cheaper, but that also may or may not be a better deal depending on how well they really last. I bought a Big Crank a year before I bought a Westco AGM, and the big Crank outlasted the Westco by 2 years. Just because it looks like a better deal doesn't mean it will turn out that way. Also the Big Crank has a 1 year warranty and the BatteryShark's warranty is 6 months. But sometimes a better selling price matters enough to try it.

Didn't have much luck with Westco's. Bought one for the 1100 when it still had 750 motor in. Put 1100 motor in and the positive terminal on the battery melted partially and broke off. Got it replaced (warranty), added another ground cable just to be safe and it happened again. Bought a 35 dollar walmart battery and it's still in bike after 3 years. Can't recommend a Westco.
