So, Looking to get new tires for my 82' 900F.

I see that some specs have the tires listed as Front 3.25x19 and Rear at 4.0x18....
But, when I check on Partzilla...(My go-to source for part numbers) they have the Front at 3.50x19 and the the Rear at 4.25x18....

So My guess is that either width sizes will work...just depends on the feel and look you're looking for...(I typically like the wider look)

Comments, Suggestions.......

Thanks, Erock

My clymer manual calls for 4.25 V-18 4PR on the rear

There's a lot of info in the forums about sizes and brands, but I've been using 130/80-18's on the rear. Have also used 120/90-18's on the rear in the past.

120/90 x 18 is correct.

It has to do with rim size. The 750 is 2.15 or WM 3. The 900 is 2.5 wide later 750 used the same rim. The 1100 is 3.00 wide. The bikes using the 2.15 wide rim can only take the 120 wide tire. The 900 takes 130 and the 1100 takes 140. 10mm of tire is about .400" so there it goes.

Now you can put what ever you want on the bike a 100 is a little small but to each his own.

As to front same deal. In the old 3.25 wide days the height was even. The newer tires are 90 or less so extra width shows up as 100 so 3.94" wide. Correct width is 100 on all but 1100 which is 110.
