We lost our eldest son last night. I guess this was the final act of the last 12 years which began with a brain tumor. The removal of which robbed him of his sight and left him damaged and dependant upon life sustaining medications. Not quite 24 and now passed on. There are many tears being shed today. |

Sorry to hear that Nick. Tell us more about him or post some pictures if that would help grieve at all. |

I am sorry for your loss, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
I have been involved with the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and the Ride for Kids program for 22 years, as no child or family should have to go through what you have. |

Nick,
That is very sad news - I'm so sorry for you and your family. I can't imagine how you must feel, but rest assured that there are many people here to support you and pray that your son is now comfortable in a better place.
Good thoughts and prayers being sent your way, my friend.

Nick, I echo the sentiments here.
One day, when I'm King of the World, no parent will ever have to lose a child. That's not the way life is supposed to be, my friend.
Profound condolences on the loss of your son. Please tell your wife and Family that this Community of (mostly) Men grieve along with you.
I pray that he will Rest In Peace, and you'll see him again, when the time is right.
Rick |

When he saw the path in the clearing....the sun was shining...and there was no
fear....for he knew he was home.
The frail electricity that sustains our life is some of the weakest yet most
powerful electricity there is......we must never take this for granted and know
that our own spark shines in the world that he has departed from.
My sincerest thoughts and prayers from me and mine to you and yours...

So sorry for your loss, I can't imagine the pain of losing a child causes (speaking as a father of five). If there is a favorite charity that we can make a donation in your son's memory please post it for us. |

Double post. Sorry for your loss. I lost my best mate of 44 years to brain cancer back in 2009. The pain does go away. But your memories never fade. 2 very different things. I don't know you mate, but my thoughts are with you and your family.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. It really means a lot right now. We just met with the funeral directors to arrange Matthews cremation etc. I never thought I would be in this place. |

Very sorry to hear this terrible news Nick and you have my deepest condolences.
I believe the hardest thing in one's life is to lose their child and I can't begin to imagine what you're going through.
Prayers go out to you and your family in this very difficult time. Try to take comfort knowing Matthew's now in a better place. |

It is horrible to learn of this. At least he is no longer suffering. My wife of 15 years recently succumbed to breast cancer. I am sorry. |
