Has anyone got a part no for the black plastic fork cap, the one with the numbers on it, for adjusting the damping.? One has disappeared from 'Mary', only noticed this morning whilst washing her down. Or if anyone has a spare.?? Where they used on any other models.??

Thanks,
Jim

That would be a nice job to use a 3D printer for. I believe they are NLA, although you might check with David Silver Spares.

I've tried re-doing the cap with a 3-D printer but the results were not very good. Visually it looks like crap & it took a bunch of hand work to make it fit. We'll try making some corrections to the file but so far I'm not overly optimistic.

There are 2 types of caps - both look the same from the top but the orientation /indexing pin is in a different location.

51458-mg5-671 is the correct part for the 11F 51458-mg5-611 will work but the orientation of the # to the 2 indents under the cap is different . Both are NLA Here is one of the wrong ones , but will work . http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fork-Cap-Cover-1985-Honda-Sabre-VF1100-V65-/141140542043?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20dca1c25b&vxp=mtr
