Hey everybody
Here is an update on the gauge restoration for the F bikes
Excuse the repeated info for you guys that are on the CBXworld site
I have determined that the best way to go on these faceplates, especially the speedometer, is to use the reproduction plates.
I got the first samples back today and they are beautiful.
The quality is fantastic. The pictures don't do them justice.
I will offer them in original colors or in any color that you want, for the custom applications
The possibilities are endless, i.e. black background with what ever color numbers you want
or what ever color background with what ever color of numbers etc.
I will also be able to convert 80 mph speedos to 150mph and convert 10K tachs to 11K tachs.
Like I mentioned before, I can restore your speedometer, Tach and or volt meter including refinishing the needles (if they are in good faded unbroken condition) and repaint the outer ring.
Or I can sell the face plates only so you can replace your own face plates.
I will follow up with pricing
By the way, the gauges pictured here are your gauges Barry
Thanks
Pete

Hey everybody,
Pricing on the gauges is as follows: (does not apply to Guys who have previously sent me their gauges)
Please note that these gauges are pretty complicated and time consuming to restore properly and the materials and labor are expensive. So sorry in advance if you think these prices are high. But it's a lot less expensive than NOS ones
Face Plates Only = 200.00 for both face plates, Speedometer (150 MPH or 80 Mph) MPH or KPH, Tach (10K or 11K)
Individually, 100.00 for Speedometer, 100.00 for Tach
Installed Face Plates = 300.00 for both speedo & tach + shipping
This option will include refinishing outer rings (black, for Euro and Canada Bikes) if needed, and refinished needles.
You will also have the option to convert the tach to 11K if desired.
You send me both gauges already removed from cluster
Complete Restoration of the Cluster = 400.00 US clusters or 500.00 for the CBX style clusters from Europe or Canada
This option includes installed face plates, refinishing outer rings, needles and cluster face plate and idiot lights. (euro & Canada)
It also includes new rubber cushions from Honda, and new light bulbs.
It will also include converting the tach to 11K if desired.
Note: The options above apply to gauges or clusters that are in good working order. Needles have to be solid and unbroken. Please be aware that I have had needles break during shipping. That usually happens when they are almost too brittle to refinish anyway. So be aware of that possibility.
If you need to have the gauges serviced, repaired or if you want an 80 MPH converted to 150 MPH, that will be an additional charge of 150.00 which is my cost including shipping to my source that provides that service.
Thanks guys
Pete
you can call me at 415-272-8133 if you have any questions or want to arrange sending your gauges to me. |

Hi Pete,
I'll be interested in getting, KPH speedo & tach dials and needles refinished.
"I have determined that the best way to go on these faceplates, especially the speedometer, is to use the reproduction plates"
Just one question, are you now doing repro dials as i remember in an earlier post you were using the original plastic faces>
Regards,
Tony |

To answer Tony's question, I can still use the original face plates, but the re production ones seem to turn out a better quality print. That is not to say the re screening of the original ones dont look good, just not as good. |

Are you still offering gauge restoration? My faces are sun damaged and quite difficult to see at night and ive no idea how to go about opening them up or where to get faces to restore them. They look ok when its sunny out but makes night riding quite sketchy.
