OK,
I have the prototype made and it was a tough job making the dick of this set up. The plates were straight forward but
that front part is very time consuming! I'm not all that happy with my tools for cutting this out so I will look into having the
parts done by a laser cutter, water jet or plasma cutter shop? I have a guy that lives close with the CNC plasma cutter set up but
I'm not sure how clean of a cut they do? Decisions to make.
This is a parts list of the complete AHM Brace to fit CB900F Forks.
All other forks will have to have clamps and I'm working on those next.
Parts list;
2- Angle plates that mount to the forks.
4- Bolts with short heads.
4-Riser spacers.
4-Bolts, washers & nuts.
1-Fork brace Plate.
2-Fender Bolts (1 front & 1 rear), washers, nuts.
4- Fender Brace Spacers.
4- Bolts, washers & nut's.
1- Top bender Brace.
These will be done in very limited batch's until I have more helpers?
I haven't made the top spacer's yet and still haven't changed the length of the Angle plates yet but all others will have that set up.
I hope it's up to what you expected? They will only get nicer and I'm pretty happy with it.
Still not sure on the price? Sorry
Keep it in a Wheelie, Jim |

Now that is looking good Jim,
please add me to your list for one.
I wont need the angle plates as my FZ750 forks have lugs
so I can bolt the fork brace plate directly to them.
How have you fixed the fender to the fork brace,
are those the 2 fender bolts, 1 front & 1 rear.
I take it they are bolted through the center line of the fender?
Just wondering how you got that '79 fender to fit so well on the 17" wheel.
Am I right in thinking a bit of heat may have been used here,
wouldn't mind letting me know, would ya?

Yes the fender is attached by the front and rear bolts in the kit.
After making this I understand the purpose of the arch on the fender brace top mount.
The arch holds the fender VERY sturdy and two bolts are all that is needed. The fender hardly moves at all ounce
all bolted together.
I sat and stared at this for at least an hr after I bolted it up. IMO it is the closest Replica fender brace that I have ever seen.
I plan to make the front piece 1/2" shorter on the rest of them.
The arch of the fender was an experiment and it worked perfectly. Very happy with how it turned out.
It also turned out IMO better then any I have seen.
Here is the secret.
Cut the side mounts off. Zip tie the fender to the desired size of tire (make sure that the fender is centered on the tire) and heat it with a heat gun evenly (without melting it) about 10 minutes and let it cool completely.
Repeat 5 more times. That's what I did and it worked.
That's all I know. JJAM |

Thanks Jim, you are a gentleman sir.
I thought you must have used a heat gun to soften and reshape the fender.
I spent many years doing Smart Plastic Repairs on car trim and a simple heat gun
was one of my favourite tools.
Amazing what a bit of heat can do especially when repairing damaged dashboards.
Jim, have to agree with you, your brace turned out great, really looks the part,
well done.
I'm off on hols tomorrow for a week or so but please keep me in mind
for one of your braces.

Hi JJAM, it's getting real close now.
I'm trying to finish my CAD drawing for the fender brace for you.
Only want minor adjustments then your good to go 😄
I'll try to finish it this week then I'll email it to you.
Regards
Victor |

Finished this one off with the spacers to check fit and I'm still happy with it.
Also after making a mock up number plate, I found an err with my number plate mounting hole spacing.
R&D kills me!! Bu t I love it. It's just a thing.
Peace, Jim |
