New to this forum and a total green horn when it comes to these bike. But not to Hondas in general, have three in garage right now.
Might be going to look at a 83 CB1100f tomorrow. Need some advice and opinions on what you think of this bike and what you might give for it.
After market exhaust
Missing factory air box(running pods)
Left front turn signal broke
Engine sprocket cover missing
32K on clock
Bike does run and as title
Must of been repainted, don't think they came in one solid color
Here's a couple pics |

Welcome to the site!
The pipe is a Mac.
Sidecovers also aftermarket by Maier.
Single mirror also aftermarket as are the rear turn signals.
Seat has been cut down and recovered.
Looks like a $1500-2000 bike to me. |

Thanks 1100fer for info. Not original paint also right? Have heard bike run by video and it sounds wicked and idles ok. But can see gas dripping from at least one of the carbs(maybe just a stuck float) Im sure carbs need to be gone through also. Owner says its been sitting for years and he decided to sale it and all he did was put gas in it and it fired right up Have not seen bike in person but like all of the older Honda's brakes, tires, etc are pretty much a standard thing. Another $1000 easily on top of purchase price before you even get it on the road. You see a lot of these bikes that have non factory pipes, but this bike has a number of other things that aren't original and a few things missing off of it also.
If you were a first time buyer of one of these bikes and if the owner would sell for the price you suggested would you bring it home or walk and wait for a more original canidate to come along.
I know the decision is mine, but just like to get opinions of members here that are knowledgable of these bikes.
Thanks dhall |

If it were around $1500, then yes I would buy it myself but I know I could do all the work it needed myself and the only "cost" to get it road worthy is the cost of parts. Well, except for paint. I would outsource that also.
If you know how to use tools and aren't afraid to get your hands dirty then this bike would be fine for you. All the info you need to help you along can be found here and if you're stuck, just ask and help is readily given. If you rely on others to do it all, then forget it.
You can always wait for a better one to come along but price will also reflect its condition.
If you are looking for a showroom new bike and want a 150hp rocket, then this bike isn't for you. Buy a newer sport bike.
Making these old girls looking like new and giving them extra ponies make the cost go up exponentially. |
