Very nice work Nunzio (as usual).
I was following your thread on the GL site. What colour of blue is that? It looks amazing!
You've done a really nice job with the 'scheme' It looks better than the original Honda scheme all around.
I especially like the look of the painted fenders and the sport bars. |

I did all the paint work myself, I have a small plotter and can design and make graphics and paint mask for the lettering etc. I've custom painted helmets for years, www.graphixbyjim.com

The color is Majic Blue Pearl, by House of Kolor. I lay down a black base, then the Blue and then Top coat with DuPont Chromoclear. |

Nice work....those professional quality graphics in the factory style really work on this bike. Classic CBX cues look great here..
Attention to those types of details is what sets bikes like this apart from most custom efforts. |

Thanks all, have a minor running issue with it. Can't seem to hold a very good idle. I'll figure it out though systematically. |

You should post that up at Randakk's Cycle Shakk website, have you ever seen his supercharged wing?

From one GL owner to another - beautiful job, Nunzio. It looks brand new in every aspect.
These bikes are known for having idle issues. Check all the obvious things regarding vacuum leaks, old carb boots, etc., and as I have done numerous times, never hesitate to ask the gurus over at the NGW site. How is yours once it's warmed up? Mine is a little funky, but I've learned how to deal with it. |

I have it all sorted out. I had some new CB450 Bomber points and a new GL capacitor so I put those in and did the split timing per the Randakk site and its dead nut. The carbs have all been rebuilt with the Randakk kit last year. What I found out was the timing once running was too retarded. So I bumped it a few degrees and it idles like a charm. I can also run the ballast resister plugged back in as well. Did a recheck of the carb balance and it was still dead nuts on too.
I have a very stable idle, returns back to 1000 RPM quickly when revved and no stumbles. I also discovered that I needed to readjust the clutch at the back of the motor a little. It was grabbing too close to the bar. Everything is perfect now.
Thanks. |
