Hola!
Me and the Doc had to make the most out of a 70 degree day in Northern New York (especially with hurricane Sandy threatening from the south and a cold front moving in from the west). We headed out into the Adirondaks, and smoked almost 300 glorious miles of asphalt. We got lost, found some sweet-ass back roads, enjoyed the scenery, and rode the snot out of our bikes. The last ride of the season? Hope not!!
Share a couple of pics of our day:
We found some back roads in the woods behind Newton Falls that really were back roads. The kind where if you run off the road, you will lay there until you get better. Exactly one car went by while we were chilling:
Good thing we had "Bird Dog Bob" to scout our way back to civilization:
Once back into civilization, the state roads weren't to bad:
We ended up here, at St. Regis Falls, which is on the northern edge of the Adirondak Park. The local campground we pulled into to take these pics was occupied by a lone soul who volunteered to take our picture. Only one of the pics he took was useful. Maybe another Milwaukee's Best (obviously his brand since he couldn't even put his down to take the pics) may have steadied his hands enough to take a good pic.
And Bob even volunteered to narrate for a mini-video. Being a producer just isn't my thing, yet!
And after we went our separate ways, I encountered a couple of older Harley's and had to pass them out. I guess my 985 felt a little sorry for them and had to park over a wet spot in a parking lot.

And those are some good looking shirts you boys are wearing, too. I spent my day at work, and then had my last Soccer Game of the season. Funds for the 985 are almost 1500, Picking up the cylinders tomorrow, and looking forward to continuing the build... Wish I could have ridden with you!

I am guessing with the empty roads and great weather there were a bunch of broken speed limits. lol.
Nice pics, Steve.

I cannot believe how great the late October weather turned out. Rode 150 miles Thursday afternoon with buddy Dave (non-F rider) and then all day yesterday with Steve. We traveled some great back roads and had very little traffic to deal with. Great end of the season.

This was today's last ride before Sandy drops by. These pics were taken at Lake Tiorati in Harriman Park, NY, not far from where Brian had his encounter with the pavement.
Stay dry, Chico.

I just checked my phone and pound one of the images actually caught Bigfoot! That road behind Newton Falls really was secluded.

Great pics guys! I think that weather we had last Thursday was the final 'warm' temps we are going to see this year. I was unable to cut work on Thursday, and had to settle for a short, but quick ride just outside of the city. My wife and I were able to sit outside at a lake side patio and have dinner, me in short sleeves.
I'm not ready to park the bike yet, not until we get that first snow fall and they lay down the salt on the roads.
