I don't want to get anyones hopes up, but I called Supertrapp today to enquire about their exhaust and it seems that when they moved from California and close their factory, they left any chance of remaking that exhaust behind. Sad

The lady I talked to said, that they tossed any hope of making the stainless system out the window when they moved. She doesn't know why they did, but said they no longer will make it.

On the other hand, she said they still have the Kerker system in the computer which means they can make it if they want to. So she said she will contact me tomorrow and tell me if they will make some more sets.

I mentioned that there may be more people interested if that would help sway them to make it again, she said it couldn't hurt, so if you think you might be interested in a new Kerker 4 into 1 system, please let it be known so I can convey any interest to them, in hopes that they will make a small production run to help us all out. Smile

Which Kerker pipe is this you speak of? Can you post pictures of it or direct me to a a picture. I'm kinda interested in anything that would fit the F models at this point. Stainless would be great.

email me at bclay@amlewa.com.

Thanks

Laughing I'm interested, is it the K2 or megaphone system. I love the look of the Kerker megaphone system. Kerker always sounded great.

I would also be a candidate for a Kerker system, I have a Kerker set up on my CBX, and I'm very pleased with the quality & sound

Bluesman,
I guess you are talking about a 4 into 1 pipe, but I would be intrested in a 4 into 2 exhaust, I like the balenced look on both sides.

They only make the 4 into 1 system, sorry.

Talked to the lady on friday, she asked them about a small production run but hasn't heard back yet. No news is good news, so they must be thinking it over because its been a week now.

She promised to let me know this week what they decide. So keep your fingers crossed. Wink

They got back with me today, and the answer is NO we are not able to make these any more. BS! they just don't want to make them any more.

Hell, their job is to make exhaust pipes for motorcycles, how lame is we can't make those any more sound. Sorry if I got anyones hopes up. Crying or Very sad

Man, I'd love to corner some of these factory reps, so I could hear them say there's not enough demand to make your parts. I guess they really don't care Shocked about the customer or motorcycles, just how many dollars they can make, what a shame. Evil or Very Mad

There, I feel a little better but not much. Rolling Eyes

Mike, thanks for your interest in SuperTrapp and Kerker exhausts! Unfortunately we willnot be able to build anything for the CB1100F 1983.

Sorry!

This is another very good reason why we need to get as many people as we can to the Honda Hoot. If we have a show of force maybe someone will notice and after some conversations we may be able to convince them to remake a few items we need. Sign up and come join in the fun.

Gentlemen/ladies,
I am a new member and wanted to say thankyou for this board and the ability to communicate with reference to matters of concern for the CB1100F. I have had Several dealings with Gerry at Supertrapp/Kerker and this is a lady who will go above and beyond to try and help make your wish(es) happen. If Gerry says they(Kerker/Supertrapp) will not be able to help it isn't because she hasn't tried--it's most likely because management do not see the volume requirement to make a production run feasable. Typically they will not make a small run because of the possibility that these same "special" pipes will not being sold and end up sitting in Kerkers' inventory forever. Another angle to consider is to ask her to approach the management team with a guarantee of purchase of a set number of pieces and then encourage her to tell you what number of pieces it would take to make that happen and at what cost they would be. If they will agree and there is enough $$ put up front to satisfy Kerker then this just MAY happen. Rememeber though that Kerker is in the business of making and Selling pipes and so "we" must make it a viable proposition for Them before "we" can even consider asking them to do us the favor.

When I talked to them it was through Gerry. She is a sweetheart and none of this reflects on her, because if it was up to her, I'm 100% sure they would be making them right now.

She is just customer service, so has no real pull with the people who make the decisions. She just relays the messages and does a fine job of doing that, they should promote her to V.P. in charge of sales. Wink

I'll have to agree with CBX1260cc, I think if they have some hard figures to see the demand they may be pursuaded. They still make a run of the 6 into 1 and 6 into 2 Kerkers from time to time for the CBX's. I would think there are more 750/900/1100F's out there than CBX's.

I found a web site that says it had the Kerker Magaphone system for CB750F's. I locate it again and post it.

I read some where in a posting of exhaust systems fitting 750/900/1100F's if that's true we can go that route. They cost around $450.00.

I talked to Gerry again today with the new suggested approach. She will talk with them again and see what # they come up with. But her biggest concern is that she is almost certain they through away the jigs to make the pipes for the 900F & 1100F. So they would have to make a new set, which she doesn't think they will want to do. I offered my bike if they need it. Wink

She said also that the 750 pipe will not fit the 900 or 1100 that the part #'s are different. So beware, if she is correct on this, and I think she is. She's been with them enough years to have a good understanding of whats there.

Will let you know what she says, when I hear back. Smile

I got a call from Gerry at Kerker today and it seems they've had a change of heart. She said, they would run off 50 sets: That's the complete system, headers and megaphone exhaust. Smile This fits 900F & 1100F

Now the catch....All 50 sets must be purchased up front. Each set will cost $400.00, I don't find that to be unreasonable considering how well they were made origionally. I just don't have a spare $20,000.00 laying around but if I did I would buy them all and let them go as needed. ( To Gary, the money no object statement does NOT apply here. $20,000.00 is an object, about the size of a very large boulder! Laughing )

Now I could take 1 set, that leaves 49 left. Any takers? If we have enough interest we can get them made. So it's time to put up or shutup. Shocked Wink

Twisted Evil I'm interested, but what's the time frame for this happening, within 6 months or??? Will they be chrome or black?
Reason I ask is that I'll be deploying in the near future.

Thanks

Don

Gentlemen/ladies,
I'm pleased to see that Kerker has agreed to the request to make the exhaust systems. I was a Little surprised at the minimum number they required before considering such a request but we must all realise that they Could have set the number even HIGHER to discourage the members from bothering(??) them anymore. As it stands it would seem that an order of this magnitude Would be possible to fill but it is going to require several(actually 50) people to step up to the plate and make a firm commitment. You can count me in as one of those who IS willing to make a firm order--any others????
On a final note---BluesMan deserves quite a bit of credit for his persistance and finding a way to enable these systems to be made. I think it would be a nice gesture if the members of this forum could do their best to support his efforts and accomplishments up to this point.

Shocked There needs to be a Poll set up to find out how many 1100F's/900F's are out there and how many of them would like to have one of the best exhaust systems ever made for these bike.

Just a suggestion

Stoutblock, do you remember how long ago the last kerker was made? Confused

They would have to start production up on a part they weren't planning on making any more of. I thought 300.00 would have been a better price, but this would be a special run so I understand their thinking.

I don't know for sure which end piece they were thinking about but I'll check to see if it is the cansiter or megaphone.

No profit would be made on these by anyone but the factory, I'm just relaying what Gerry told me. Smile

If you look at my bike in the gallery, tell me how I can get more clearance. Wink

Blues,
I'm interested if their doing the run in flat black finish with the large logo plate. Do they still make the race baffles for these or the Lawson Race Replica pipe?

The poll for whether or not you would be interested in NEW kerker headers and megaphone exhaust is in the SuperSport Shout section on the right hand side. Smile

Your vote on this matter is requested, we need to find out about this so a decision can be made. Cool
