How many Every Day Riders?

I ride my CB750f to work every day, 30 miles round trip.. How many riders still commute these beautiful machines? I get so many people stopping me waving me down and wanting to talk about the good old days.. When they wish they still had the F's...

Me, too, but only 20 miles. This was an exceptional winter here in NE and I was able to ride every day but for about a week. During November through March I don't have to fight too hard for a close-by parking spot on a private sidewalk that the meter maids don't seem to care about. But April through October, I pay $100 a month to park in a nearby garage that has a soft spot for MCs. I like it so much better than public transportation, even though it's not particularly green--30 mpg at best.

I wanted this bike as a rider, something I could park in a lot and walk away from and not worry about it. When I park my CB750 sohc's anywhere I can't get away from it because people stop me and want to talk about it and because I'm worried about people messing with it. Looks like I was very wrong about my F not being a popular bike! Embarassed

I can't believe how many people have said they had an F, wish they still had one and how much they enjoyed riding it. Looks like I lucked out with another winner of a bike. maybe I should apologize to it! Yay! Cliff.

I ride mine to work (only about 15 miles round trip) whenever it's dry. I've never "winter-ized" my bikes. If it's dry...I'm riding.

I'm spoiled though...I have 4 floors of heated underground parking at work.

I ride my bikes every day I can....but the weather has been so shit lately I'm stuck with the car:(

Any day it doesn't rain . Been tough here last summer rained tons and have had a lot this spring already.
I ride 35 miles round trip on semi rural back roads ,so I try to ride to work whenever possible.

And yes I get the occasional admirer of the old girl also.

Weather permitting, I ride to work whenever I possibly can. It's only about 5 miles away, but I usually manage to find a longer way to get there. If I leave early enough, I ride around a beautiful reservoir, past an amazing old stone block dam, through twisty country roads. This route is approx. 20 minutes and starts the day off right.

The only problem I have with riding to work is deciding which baby to take. With 4 on the road, I try to be fair and give each of them a turn every week...but the 900F or 1100F often get to go twice!

Every day for the past 6 weeks. My zrx has been down waiting for parts the entire time. I usually switch off every few weeks when both are roadworthy.

I work about 8 miles from home, and I ride whenever I can. I try not to ride to work in the rain, but I have ridden lots of times when the weather-guesser says it's going to rain for my ride home. I don't want to be at work in wet clothes, but it's no big deal on the way home.

I haven't been riding my F very much though. I had a couple of 'a-ha' moments while working on my XL600R. Once I re-hooked(and secured) the linkage connecting the secondary carb to the primary carb, it goes like an animal again. So I started riding that this spring, before the roads were clear, and clean. And I'm having so much fun that I haven't switched over to street bikes yet. The wife and I have taken the F out a couple of times with her as passenger, and I have taken it out a few times just for kicks. We have only gone out on the 'his-n-hers' FT500 Ascots once so far...Although I have taken each one out occasionally, just because......well, because they are motorcycles, and I have the keys!

Rain or shine I am taking my baby to work. I have an average ride of 100 miles round trip. Most of the time she is parked on the sidewalks of Manhattan Lovely Rita never bothers me . People are always stopping and looking. And if I am out by the bike for lunch a smoke or whatever a conversation is almost always struck. She's no beauty but at the same time she's no rat bike but she's mine she just looks like a bike that is used . It seems that people love these old war horses. I may have taken my jeep this past year to work maybe a dozen times if that. Since the motor that was put in her at the last North East fall ride I think I have done around 20000 miles to date.

When I was living in North Carolina I rode to work almost every day, rain or shine and even when it was 19 degrees out. The few days of snow and ice I drove the cage and the few days it was just pouring. That was about an hour commute one way. I actually kinda miss that commute these days. Time to clear your head before and after work. I still ride to work everyday but New Hampshire winters keep me in the car a bit more.
