A Somewhat Sad Day...

For quite a while I've been thinking about selling my beloved little '75 CB360T. It was my first "real" restoration project and was a tremendous learning experience for me. For the first couple of years, I enjoyed riding it around town and getting all sorts of compliments. After I got my 900F, things changed. The size and power were so much more in line with what I like in an older Honda. After I got the 900F in my blood, things were never the same with the 360T. Then I got the 1100F and it was like getting addicted to heroine. There's just no comparison to that and a small twin like my first Honda.

I've been thinking about selling her for the past year or so, and since I've had the GL1000, it's been on my mind even more. So with mixed emotions, I stuck an ad on CL earlier this week and set the price hight enough to allow for some negotiation. A guy from CT contacted me and was very interested. He came up this morning, took one look at it, and with cash in hand, made an offer I couldn't refuse. I just about broke even with all the costs involved in the restoration, so I figure I got to ride it almost for free for the past several years. Now, rather than having it sitting in the garage collecting dust and with the ever-present potential for carb clogging issues from non-use and crappy gas, it's going to a new home where it will be lovingly enjoyed and ridden. I hope he takes good care of it - with only 3500 miles on her, she deserves to enjoy a nice, comfortable life.

Hi Tom, Thats a very nice little grocery getter. Plus they are really easy to wheelie for a long way.
As far as crap in the carbs goes, why doesn't anybody just drain the float bowls and run the motor until it sucks the remaining fuel out. I have done that on my bikes (dirt included) for years and never have to clean my carbs. Its a very simple process. With the crap gas we now get, I will even drain the bowls if I think the bike will sit for anything over a week.

Anyway, I feel your pain on selling the bike. They have souls you know.

That was a beautiful bike. I bought my first wife one just like it new same color and all. That was a very nice bike. I know you hated to see it go.

I agree, and that's what I usually do. That probably explains why it started right up after a couple of kicks.

Yep, it is so simple to do, but most are just too lazy to get er done. But thats why I'm here! Cool

I would love to have a small Honda like that 360 for my wife to ride to work. We live a whole 1/8 mile from her work. Only my commute is less at 75ft. LOL

Loved that bike, sold it to get a CB550 that was not as nice. Crying or Very sad

nice 360 Tom....I know how you feel. 5 years ago i sold my 1000 interceptor that i restored from boxes of parts. I bougt it back last year...never gonna sell it again!

Man, my first road bike was a 75 CB360T *exactly* like that one. Well ok, it had SOME dirt on it... lol

I'll bet yours went for much more than the $600 I paid for mine way back when.

No, brother, mine was a red 350/4.

Looking for a suitable replacement now, to "complete" my collection...

Once she comes home to me, I hope she'll be home till I'm gone...

Nice looking bike man, sometimes it's hard to let them go. I'm actually going to go look at a 76 cb360 this weekend but it's not anywhere as nice as yours.

too true DH,

What goes round, comes around - these good feelings we have for our bikes (hopefully) is passed on to the next owners! (but I suspect, even if not, they'll enjoy the fact they outlived their peers as they slide sideways etc etc ....

Super clean resto, TomK. I'm sure the next owner will do her proud - better to have loved and lost.... and now you got the cash to love all over again.....
