Here's Ray's CBX Super Nice

A buddy that knows I'm into older Hondas sent me this link. I knew who the guy was right away. I think some of you ran him off the site? I don't know or care. He built a nice bike as far as I can see & if he makes a living wrenching on bikes? Then he's A- OK in my book.

If I recall, Ray (fastspider) , had a dispute and basically Ray chose to leave ,,

(correct me if I am wrong )

I can only think of 2 who's conduct earned them to be banished from accessing this site.

Thanks Larry. I had read some posts & made my judgment. I just liked the write up & didn't want any flack from members, if they didn't like the guy. I have talked with another member & he speaks highly of Ray & since I work on bikes as my trade. I can respect the guy.

Ray is on the vjmcog site and cbxworld. Sometimes he is a rough around the edges but heck, who isn't. His CBX is nice, F2/F3 wheels, braced swinger, CBR forks, & an expensive Schule 6 into 1.

Ray is a rare duck...and we have even had some words over at CBX world....but we evened out OK......his bike is really cool...and he rides the shit out of it.....
One thing they failed to mention is the $4000.00-0 mile school bike motor out of the 81'.....
The article was written in a way that totally explains him to the tee......not everyone likes him
but he will be the first to tell you that..... Very Happy

IMO, nothing sounds like a CBX at RPM with a six into one header.

What I liked about Ray was that on his 1100F, if there was something he wanted to do to it he didn't screw around thinking about it, he just bought the stuff and put it on. No beating around the bush. If he wanted a Schule exhaust, he bought it and put it on. I don't have the time to do such things, wish I did.

Damn! He really has that CBX looking sweet!!

I'm shocked to see a Schule on it and that thing looks like a work of art. I have one on the OMT bike and it is absolutely and incredible pipe!!

That bike is awesome. Ray helped me out considerably when I was restoring my bike. He even loaned me tools clear up here in Alaska. Of course I was responsible and sent them back to him when the work was completed.

The real problem with Ray was that he was often so subtle that his real feelings on a matter were not clear.

I mean, how does Ray really feel about cafe style bikes? I will take advice and opinions on the answer to that question.

I don't think "we" ran Ray off, he just quit coming on his own. He was abrasive and rubbed some people the wrong way and a few people rubbed back and he didn't like it. When you think about it, it's ironic that the guy who didn't care what you thought about what he said ultimately left over how he was treated. He was and is a stand=up guy.

Yea but he camped out here, got it in his head he was the welcoming committee and made sure everyone put location in profile. I liked Ray, but got sick of that. Would welcome him back if he choose to return. Others are abrasive here, (sonic) but I don't want him to leave, too important to us.

He still has the most post by a lonnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggg shot. It certainly wasn't dull around here that is for sure.

Ray is most certainly a phenomenal personality. I have dealt personally with him and have no issues. That said he DID make his own bed, and chose to lie in that bed. Ray is one to run with the situation as it is. He had some course words to say and said them, for better or for worse. He is still a very active personality on the custom site.

That is a very nice bike! Just enough mods to make it a better bike, but retaining the escence of what it was meant to be. He did a really nice job on it. To be honest, I always thought his F's were a bit on the ratty side, but that bike is sweet! Glad to hear he finally got his license back. Twenty-One Thousand Dollars!! Shocked

He must have really gotten himself in deep shit with the DMV or let it go a hell of a long time. Glad he's doing well.

When I was in AZ. going to MMI I got 32 tickets in 1yr for mainly doing wheelies. I through all of them away & never went to court. Everytime I got pulled over I thought Oh No I'm going for a ride. It never happened. Then one week before I was comeing back to OR, a cop that had pulled me over month's before caught me speeding. He said he was looking for me & took my license & gave me 4 more tickets.
To get my license back I had to go to court. I gave the girl at the counter my sad "I'm leaving story" & she sent me into a last chance judge. I had $6,000.00 in my pocket to pay a down payment & expected the worst.

BEST JUDGE I ever ran into. He asked if I had anything to say? I said No. He said $250.00 & slammed the gavel. I could have Kissed him.

LOL, Let's just say it was a pretty wild time in my life. It was fun but I'm glad I have an better appreciation for life now!! The dumbest thing I ever did
"a few times" was Stood up on the seat and did an iron cross at 65 in traffic on the Black Canyon Hwy in Phoenix that year.
Some buddies at school said I didn't have the balls to do it. I never saw them try it. I was either stupid or just a good rider. I never crashed. I also liked to pass traffic sitting on the back seat not holding onto the bars or foot controls. It was fun.

I almost went to stunt school in California but went to MMI instead. I liked the rush.

I've always been crazy & the trouble it's put me through. Been busted for things that I did & didn't do. I can't say I'm proud of all the thing's that I've done. But I can say I've never intentionally hurt anyone. I've always been different with one foot over the line. Winding up somewhere one step ahead or behind. It ain't been easy. Actually, in today's world, there are 2 kinds of motorcyclists, those that have hit the pavement and those that will.

I can't judge you for your past "fun" or I'd be the biggest hypocrit out there. We all did things when we were young and once older think, "Christ, WTF was I thinking! But damn, it sure was fun!"

Hell, I know I have!

Peer pressure can be a bitch at a younger age. Thankfully you realize that now and you're still around to recognize what you did was a little nuts. Wink

Ray certainly does build some amazing bikes. I nearly brought myself to fly out to LA when he was selling his Fs, I wanted to buy one and ride it back home.
