There is a guy on custom fighters who is building a 1980 CBX. He is doing the usual modern swinger / front end / wheels type of stuff. Man it looks killer. It is in the "member project bikes" section. He paid $200.00 for it. I tried to copy the photos and paste them over here but it wouldnt work. |

I work with a guy who has a more or less basket case 1982 CBX he purchased brand new. I've been trying to buy it for years and he won't come off of it. He last rode it about 10 years ago and the stator went out, he had it fixed, rode it for about 2 months over the summer and let it sit. I assume the battery went dead and he couldn't get it to start. He had the idea to roll it down the drive way and dump the clutch, nothing happend. He tried to roll it back into the garage and the rear wheel was locked up. He asked me over to have a look a few days later, when I got to his house he had removed the engine from the frame and parts were scattered all over his garage floor. He tried turning the motor over and it would only turn about 359 degrees back and forth but not all the way around. I wanted to go forward with some diagnostic efforts but he was tied up with other life matters. So it sits 10 years later in a lump of prime Honda goodness. I ask him about once a month to make a deal. No luck yet, |
