That sharp test caused a lot of controversy over here when it came out

I wonder if that's why i don't hear very well any more? tinnitus is so bad now sometimes i hear voices, buzzing and bells ringing. It's the voices that bother me the most though.

Are the voices telling you to do anything?

I have an Arai Quantum II and a couple of Shoei RF1000's. The Shoei's are a lot quieter and have a higher opening which makes them easier to see out of if you are on a bike were you are even a little leaned over. I'm told that the new RF1100 is even quieter, and after looking at them I can see why. I plan to buy one this coming spring.

I do wear ear plugs btw, but wish I had started doing it a lot earlier in life.

Well ok I got out and tried on the following helmets....

scorpion EXO 1000 ... fit was ok.. had a slight smell to it, not a bad helmet but just did not fit me as good as the helmet I that ended up buying.

HJC-IS 16... fit was good... liked the inside tinted shield ... fit me better than the scorpion helmet.

Shark... I do not remember the model... did not fit very good at all .

Shoei RF-1100.... fit was very good... nice finish, good air flow ( I would open the vents and with my hands inside the helmet, blow air from outside vents)
not like actual riding but I did this with all the helmets and there was a significant difference lol.

Arai.... not sure of the model ($900) was not a good fit for me at all.. guess I'm lucky lol.... had the best finish of all the helmets I looked at.

Shoei Rf 1000... found my soul mate lol... fit me the best and I knew it as soon as I pulled it on. good air flow... nice padding... good finish (red Strife)
I like the RF-1100 style better but fit was not the same.

The advice to try the helmets on before you buy is right on... not all helmets fit the same and if you do not try on the different helmets you will not get a great fitting helmet unless you're very lucky lol

I have put on maybe 30 miles with the Shoei and I Have the satisfaction of knowing I got the right helmet.

Again thanks for all the replies and help.

Dan

Looks good...what really matters is the fit. If you have an uncomfortable helmet...you got nothing but an expensive headache.
