Am I a traitor?

I did something today that still leaves me in mixed emotions,started out as normal Saturday.Coffee in the A.M. with the local Honda enthusiast club.Then got invited to one of the members home for a gift of a free tank bag hand me down.he was ashowing of all his bikes to include a Buell 1125 and an st1300 as well as a ninja 250 and a '02 fz1all in mint condition with obligatory mods.He started talking about how he has recently got back into fishing after a 10 year hiatus,says he would like to get a boat again.I state that I have one that hasn't been used in two years almost.......one thing leads to another and now I'm the new owner of an '02 FZ1 complete with an Ivan's jet kit ,Full Yoshi exhuast system and other accutrements new michelin pilots and 15,000 miles on the clock adult owned and garage kept.My mind is still reeling this evening,going to miss a boat I have'nt used in 2 years for a bike I know i will use.Don't really know anything about these bikes except it looks like a modern interpretation of what we all have now.Tattoo says it's too fast,and to sell it and get a cruiser?Quite frankly I'm built like a cruiser and not a racer, could this indeed be too much??Don't even know how she sits yet as it is missing the rear wheel as of the moment to get tire mounted .It is lowered 2 inches also and starts and runs sooo sweeet, the Yoshi system in stainless sounds great.We are going to do paper on Wednesday. nick40

Traitor, no. Enthusiast yes. Now join an FZ forum or some other sport bike related forum and you can start putting your own touches on that thing. If you take it for a rip and dont like it, tuck it away til spring and get top dollar. Very Happy

The FZ1 is a RIOT! and the the FZ forum is very good. Not as good as the ZRX forum but the bike is better. If your "built like a cruiser" you are going to have a hard time keeping the front end on the ground Smile

Thats ok, it's easier on front tires that way.

p.s. the only way you're a traitor is if you trade two wheels for Four...

Nick, Yep you can sell that bike and get a zg concours, They are a very low maintenance sport touring bike, I just purchase a 1998 zg 1000 concours with less then 10,000 miles, I will be receiving the bike late next week!
Enjoy the bike any bike no matter what it is.

I love the FZ! , a good friend has one and i find it really comfy to ride . Its sit up riding position is nice . And its powerful Cool

All I can say is Bring your bike up here next year for Spikes ride and we will see how Slow my Harley is through the Mountains??? Laughing

Yea, ok, I have had to figure out(painfully sometimes and expensively)

that I can control my right wrist if I work at it.

No there is no 12 step program for wristism that I know off but then

I have an 08 CBR1000RR that people have said was to fast. I seem to think the speed is all in how you turn your wrist. I can go pretty quick when I want but I mainly enjoy the way she handles thru turns. Too fast, I do not think so. A ton of fun, definitely. Just respect what she is capable of and you will have a ball.

I like Nick40 and I kinda know how he rides at least what he has told me. I'd like to see him again. That's all I'm saying. Very Happy

Larry you have an '08 CBR1000RR? I bought one as well. They were clearing warehouses and at $7245 for a new bike could not pass it up.

Hard to believe how fast and how light. Not a peaky race engine you can cruise along in 6th and wind it on. Don't even need the other gears except to take off.

Goes to show you what 25 yrs will do.

I would have kept the boat! Can't fish from a Fizzy1, can't jump off a Fizzy1 into the water! I don't get too many chances to use my boat, but we do enjoy when we do get it out! Had a guy offer me a $6500 dollar sled, straight up for my $3500 boat this summer! Turned him down immediatly.

My bike only needs to be faster than the truck that hauls your bike around. I'm guessing with that front end sticking out a good four feet that sumbitch handles the curves like a dream huh? Laughing

I do have more than one Harley and I don't trailer or truck any of my bikes. Very Happy

Oh your talking about my Knuckle? No I'm talking about my Harley I rode with Spike in the Mountains. Laughing

Man I'm sorry I misunderstood you. I see your 1100 isn't ready to ride yet and your other bike is a 94 Honda XR650L. Sorry but I don't have a dirt bike. But I'll let you know if I ever do.

Like I said many times I could care less what people ride as long as they ride. Very Happy
