Sad economic times when you recycle rear set side plates, clutch baskets, engine covers etc,, , but anymore scrap aluminum is about all they are worth

Hey, what's that clutch basket from? If it's from an 1100 and is relatively unmolested, let me know. Thanks.

Bucko.

The carbs we're VM33's rough shape, the clutch basket is 11F. I should have a truck load by this afternoon.

that 1st pic is called breakage (aluminum - steel mix) about 20 cents a pound

This is clean aluminum about 35 cents a pound

Image

and this is scrap steel about $150 a ton

Image

I will probably end up with between $75 -$100 for a truck load ,,

but I'm done storing parts for years and years. They are cheap and plentiful and I can buy them DIRT cheap when and if I need them.

It's your stuff, so you can do what you want with it. But I still think your crazy... No matter the current market for selling parts, you can still make more money selling these good parts on here and on ebay than you can by scrapping it all. But that takes much more time and work, probably more than its worth.

Its just a shame to see these good parts (that will never be made again) going for scrap. Confused

Well from the one photo stupid is as stupid does. These bikes will not run without the ignition,ie "points" cover, due to oil leak.

The 750/900 part is NLA from Honda parts only the 1100 part with the beveled bottom edge. At least as of a few months ago.

Also needless to say drop it on the left side and you are done.

Tattoo, I for one wish you would shut your mouth once and a while. You have an opinion on everything and seem to derail many threads with non very constructive criticism and stupid comments. As far as I'm concerned you add nothing to this site, not that I've seen anyway. Rolling Eyes

Quote from tatoo - Am I the only one that thinks these parts aren't going anywhere. Just a ploy to help sell parts. I thought all of these parts went to the scrap yard MONTHS ago because his wife said so? What ever works?????????

And no,, if you go to the other thread I posted,, the pics are right there,,

this is round 2 of "its gotta go" - Verify you're facts and engage brain before popping you're mouth in gear Tatoo.

If I had unlimited storage space,, none of this would ever leave, so its not a matter of ""stupid is as stupid does"" Nor a great conspiracy to sell a part,, But if either of you want to pay my Public Storage bill of $93 a month,, Ill be more than glad to keep it all!! Wink

It was a joke it's a DAMN shame to scrap such use able items.

Have you thought of selling a truck load to a member for a little more than it would bring scrap? That's what I did when I sold all my parts to Nick40. It's better than tossing it. Just a thought?

just in case my pm didn't get to you, I'm serious about the carbs and it's gonna help economics better than 20 cents a pound. If you still have them and would sell them to me, let me know.

Cbxdog, Have you got a set of lattice rearset footpegs? If not, how about anyone else? Sorry for the hijack, Larry, I have plenty of space to store, but I'm a long way off! Wish I could help.
