Wow, That is beautiful Peter! Now you're gonna make me mod my pristine stocker....
That's just too nice with the damper, Fox Shox, and the super cool, cooler from Japan.
Stunning.

IT'S ALIVE! (again).
Got all of the electrical working (signals, brake lights etc.) and the CR's rebuilt. Charged the Big Crank, fed some gas to it and she started right up.
Sounds good too .
I opted to go back to stock rearsets for now - got a few minor things to tidy up, as well as a once over on all of the bolts and fasteners. Once I pick up a chain she should be ready to ride. |

I wish . No, it's an ordinary old V&H cannister system;

Been following the progress on this since you started. Excellent work once again Peter!

Well Pete, if those other one's start collecting dust and are in your way,........
Glad you got her fired up. That's always a special moment on projects like yours. Hell, I'm gettin' all misty eyed! |

They're very pretty rearsets, but they just didn't suit the bike (IMHO). Plus, they are really meant for an 'upswept' exhaust and I couldn't see that looking right with the V&H cannister .
I bought them originally for my blue/white bike and that's where they'll probably end up.
Either that or they'll end up gathering dust with the rest of my parts and my daughter will throw them out with everything else once I've kicked the bucket. |

I see lots of guys putting those steering stabilizers on these F bikes. Do they really help out? What advantages do they present? |

High speed wobbles and keeps the front wheel straight when it starts to defy gravity.
Nothing like having the front end set back down and the bars partially cocked. Man, I hate when that happens!!
Pete, inform your daughter there is a sweet OMT bike close by that is tired of her Raasks. |

Hey PTG:
Looks like the header's been coated with something?? Ceramic? Sorry if you've mentioned it in the thread, I can't remember if I read that or not. |

...Or, if she's smart, she'll sell it on eBay. I'm surprised you don't have enough parts to build a FLEET of 'F's!
Nice job BTW! |

It's kind of glossy for the stock finish, but I don't think it's been coated. I bought it used so anything's possible I guess.
Still waiting on a few items, but I wheeled her out in the daylight for the first time in many months;

Very nice Peter! You do beautiful work.
How do you order those oil coolers from Japan?
My Japanese is a little rusty...
Oh, and PLEASE find me a nice set of Hondaline Lattice Rearsets......I rode mine today for 100 miles and I can't stand the stock footpeg placement.
You've got my email.....
Thanks! Dave |

First ride this morning - woohoo! Didn't get to go too far as I don't have a plate yet. Everything feels nice and solid and I'm looking forward to a longer ride. For now, it's done. |

Now that you're on an 11 you'll probably end up selling the other ones.
Looking forward to more test ride stories.
Nice job, as usual. |
