I saw a picture of a belly cowl for a cb900f. I was looking for a place that sells them online. anyone know of a place or places I can check?

Welcome to the site. It's likely that you saw a lower cowl made by Lockhart Phillips. That's all I know. |

No idea, it was on this bike when I bought it last week.....sorry.
It is badged with Honda emblems that look like they were factory installed. I do not know if this is a HONDA LINE product but the way the emblems are installed make me think it could be possible. |

Ebay, craigslist, swap meets... the hunt is on if you really want one. I looked hard into chin fairings before and Lockhart was the only option I came up with. Try to find your dimensions and look for fairings on other UJMs, like Kawasakis. |

thanks spartanball. i will directly check it out. i dont mind doing some drilling and the like. i will be going the cafe route soon enough with it.
I just checked that link out and it is not the kind I am looking for. I am looking for the exact kind in the above picture. I like the box square look. Thanks for the link though!
MANGO i would love to take the piece you have off your hands.

Your pictures have to be hosted somewhere online like photobucket, then you use the [img] commands with the link. The site does it for you if click the button.
As far as mounting a chin fairing, a little bit of carefully bent flat stock should get you situated. I can't imagine drilling holes in your frame is a good idea. |

Something of much higher quality was made by Lockhart Inc. back in the day,..I had one once. No cutting grinding or welding required..it was a bolt on in total. I thought I'd like it on the bike,..but turned out, after a fashion, that I did not. Took way from the factory Honda look if only for the paint mis-match issue. I also had a fiberglass piece made by an outfit called Barracuda. I first saw this unit on a rather nicely done 900F out of Toronto Canada,..details on that machine are at the following link. I like the look, but again paint matching issues presented and took away from my install of the same piece to my 750. This unit I still have and will hold on to,..for whatever the reason. Mair MFG. Inc also did a "Universal Air Scoop" in ABS plastic,..I found these guys while looking for a picture of the Lockhart piece in my old 1995 Dennis Kirk catalog (why do we hang on to this stuff?). Anyway here's a picture and link to the archived post. HTH.

Another option is to check good ol' Ebay for chin fairings from Interceptors, Gpz's, etc. and adapt it to fit your bike. Sounds like you'll be going the "adaptation" route anyhoo, right? |

Had one on my 900F many years ago, pulled it off when I installed the 4-1 pipe. Will not fit without cutting with the header. It's hanging in the shop somewhere, guess I'll hang on to it as well. Seems like I bought mione from Spigler (sp?), it was in an ad in the back of a bike mag. I'll see if I can find the receipt.

don't limit yourself to CB900s or 1100s. i seem to recall seeing them on nighthawks too. Maier sells one for universal applications.
