Anyone here from Ft Walton Beach, Fl, or the surrounding area (Florida Panhandle or Lower Alabama)? I have a business trip coming up in Jan, from 11-15. Would love to meet members, maybe have a beer, talk about bikes. I'll be busy during the day, but will be staying at the Sheraton right on the beach, hoping for good weather! |

Hey, I'm in Tally, a few hours from Fort Walton. There are some of the most absolutely gorgeous beaches in that area. Look up Navarre Beach, between Fort Walton & Pensacola. That's a MUST SEE! There is also a fellow CBer in Milton, near Pensacola. I have a friend in Navarre but he doesn't own a CB. If you ain't got your bike with you, riding from Navarre Beach to Pensacola Beach / Gulf Breeze is almost as beautiful in a cage! You'll wanna stop often and just enjoy the dunes and smell the salt air! There is a quaint little bar / restaurant just on the other side of the bridge from Navarre to Navarre Beach. Makes great breakfast. After that, you'll drive through the usual hotels, rental condos and the such. Drive a little farther and you'll think you're in another world. You get out in the middle of the island and if the wind is right, it kicks up the sand a little and you can't see any buildings on the Navarre or Pensacola side and it's a really weird. Douglasville Dude should come down and if Pete83 can work it into his schedule.................. |

Rick what day will you be going home? The only day that I'm not working is the 15th. FT. Walton is a nice area with some of the finest beaches you will ever see. It's about a two hour drive for me but real nice for the most part. Let me know your plans and I will see if it's possible to drop in.

Well, not really sure the weather will support guys coming out on their bikes. Current forecast is for highs in the 40/50's (Florida's not supposed to be like that!). My plan is to arrive on Monday afternoon, and have meetings scheduled all day Tu/We/Th, depart on Fri back to the (currently) frigid Southwest.
Maybe we could get together for a beer (or 3)?
Look forward to it, guys! |
