Latest Look - Fitter's F

Hi Guys, I'm back and home for a month off! I left the warm desert behind and the first thing I did (well second Wink

) upon arriving back was go into the garage and apologize to my F for missing out riding her this summer.

Just before I left I finally procured a front gold boomerang (Thanks Smurdoch!) but did not have the proper spacer on the rear boomerang to do a test ride. I posted my problem and of course got the fix in no time but I was out of time.

So I spent an hour on my first morning home fixing this problem and looking forward to a quick ride before it gets even colder here.

Apparently she was not very pleased about my 8 week absence and I was surprised to experience that my big crank battery was drained and only able to chug out 3 cranks before quitting. I attached jumper wires to the car and warmed her heart enough that she finally fired up. The ride has a very different feel with the 18 vice 19” front and I had to go easy on the turns as I also have new rubber on these rims. So my verdict on this mod is not final yet. I also hope to get to Disenchanted’s place on Thursday and finish up the rebuild on the 1123 motor. Karl tells me we could have it ready for installation this week-end! If she runs then I'll add the SuperTrapp I got from Larryg that is currently sitting in the garage.

Those wheels look beautiful on a black bike. Really sets them off nicely.
Looks great!

Get a set of black 11 mirrors, or a set off an 82 vintage V45 Sabre. I never cared for the chrome lolly pop mirrors, they just don't seem to fit the lines with the low bars.

I have the V45 mirrors on my 9

Yeah, I'm debating on whether to take her along in January via trailer or in June when I come back to pick the family up. I just don't want to store her outside in -40 degree weather so she will probably end up resting in my garage in Ottawa all winter.

I've lived here all of my life..it has never hit -40...
Medicine hat will be -20 to -25 max..(min? Very Happy

But outside storage would suck for sure...

sweeter ride than ever man she is looking nice.

And yes when I went to the 17 inch wheels from the 19 front 18 back it took a while to get use to. It's a big differance ride safe brother

Over where is Alberta where I will be moving to come January. Larryg may be speaking of your climate and how it lends to itself to a longer riding season and therefore crippling the bike sooner than here in the east. That's my theory anyway on why there are a greater haul of F's to be found in the east than in the west. Ya sure you could mention that population may have something to do with it but then you would ruin my theory.

So I did a few kilometers today as the sun was out and I had my long johns on. Disenchanted and I did get together on Thursday but he has this bar in the basement see and like the hockey game was on and he puts the mugs in the freezer so we did not get any work done on the 1123 motor. So anyway I had a long look at the bike just in case today was the last ride and I came to realise that there were a great many folks involved in getting her this way.

rcmoto made the front fork brace

Wamkap1100 provided the 1100F swingarm

crank provided the smoothbore carbs for the 1123 motor

Bbrant provided the damper and fixture hardware

8andcounting provided the Ohlins shocks. Mailed them to DrOlds who then delivered them to me on this years spring ride.

Wingpilot96 provided a tire. I flew into Atlanta and while there we met at Hooters had a meal and then met in the parking lot where he delivered a tire he got for me from the web. Smurdoch provided the rim via Greyhound.

Toddk found me a replacement for this stretched cam chain

Pontiacstogo got me these footpegs all the way from Japan

Larryg provided the header and Supertrapp exhaust while Petrat took the time to repair the cracks in the collector.

and once again rcmoto provided some more bling

And there are more of course. I just have not gotten to put their stuff on yet like Natescape and a set of Sport Controls he sent.

So my thanks to all you guys! You have made this hobby a real worthwile adventure!
