Exactly. But how money bonnevilles get sold? Not to mention the history that goes with owning a bonni. I think this bike is a mistake unless it goes for less then 7K. It wont sell. Give me an FZ1 anyday. |

I think it won't sell very well and it will screw up the US opportunity to get a decent naked bike from Honda forever. Look at the Monster and the sky high sales it has. Something that competes in this arena would be better imo.

The hell with the Monster what about this
1098 StreetFighter @ $14,000.00
I was on it the other night a very tall Machine I could just about touch the floor with my toe's. Peggy was able to stand flat foot just barely. But it is a nasty looking beast |

That is exactly what I'm talking about........ a bad-ass "sport" bike whithout all the plastic. I could do without the Transformer looking headlights though but I think that bike will sell mega-times more than this nuetered Honda that doesn't really hit any sector squarely.

The sales guy said they are almost flying out of the store. They did not have any in stock and were waiting for the next shippment and out of that one 2 are already spoken for. |

Doesn't surprise me Spike. I like it too. What would surpise me is if this Honda sells well at all here in the U.S.
What I predict, is we will end up with Honda continuing to bypass the US market for the cool bikes sold elsewhere because of this one's sales failure.

idon't know guys, by the looks of things people are getting tired of, the custom cruisers that are built to someone else idea as to what is cool.
The current plastic bikes don't leand themselves to making it your "own" either.
Most of the bikes on the road to day are all copies of everyone elses. From the harley knock offs to the transformer duplicates.
Might just be time for a bike that has nothing on it that may be easy to change and customize |

I know I'm the odd one out here, but I don't really care for aftermarket exhausts. I like a nice quiet bike.

I bet it will be fuel injected, and to that I say about time. If I never clean another carburetor in my lifetime it will be too soon! |

I am with you on that one. I would have loved to keep my stock exhaust but it was rusted beyond repair.
My crappy quality 4 into 2 MAC exhaust mostly retains the stock look but not sound. |

I like it! basic, retro, and not a total clone ofa 27 yr old bike. I already have one, want a bit of a change. Only thing i really dont like is the arse end, especially the seat ending in nowhere... But knowing honda, its probably going to cost way to much for a naked bike, so probably won't be in my stable unfortunately..then again, the bike I have been waiting for, the new vfr turned out to be a fat tankerbike like the fjr..soooo will have to see if this one ever appears up here. |

Hmmmm. That one has me liking it too more than the Honda but it is a bit unattractive at the same time due to the v-twin engine...... kinda got me there. I think it is the forward rake that I like about it though.
At least the Honda has an in-line 4.

Dave, the bike looked better in the flesh than the photo. The rear rim looked to be about four inches wide. With big rubber. A nice mix of modern features and retro look.
The bike looked good at the Cycle world show in N.Y.C. too but was overshadowed in a sea of bright red body work, Carbon fiber parts,Ohlins suspension parts, and billet aluminum in the Ducati exhibit.. (that's how I remember it and I'm sticking with that story). I got lost in that orgy of gearhead stimulation and failed to see the beauty and simplicity of the black bike.
This Honda is Ok but that's it , Give me a Spencer replica instead. |

Yeah, they always do look better in person. I kinda (a bit of love/hate though) like that Ducati from the pic but I'd have to see it in person. Don't like the 90 deg twin. The new Honda sucks imo.
I'd rather have this:

I think the new Honda CB is pretty good looking even though it's not really an F related design, I'd buy that Japanese CB750F in a heartbeat. What's wrong with Honda, why do they have to be so weird about where their bikes go/don't go. |

The CB1100 just looks like rehashed uninteresting crap that we've seen over and over for the past 30-40 years. Then again I'm 21, so what do I konw?
The CB1000R on the other hand...

"Rehashed uninteresting crap" it may be to some. I probably would've thought the same when I was 21, Moribound. But now, 25 years later for me, I see an interesting blank canvas.
Imagine, unlimited parts actually available from the manufacturer, fuel injection, fat rear tire, etc. All on a simple aircooled uncomplicated bike that you wouldn't feel guilty about doing what you wanted to. I see nothing but potential here. This could be destined to be a modern classic. |

Fella's;
Sorry, but the white bike looks waay too much like a vintage Yamaha Seca 900. I also read the magazine article on the Euro version. And all I've got to say is with bodywork like that, and particularly in that color, you couldn't get me to buy one at gunpoint.
Now AJ's photoshop bike, that one's got me opening my wallet.

That's it! That is what I want! In a 900, 1100, or best of all a 1300!
I have been looking for a way to contact Honda US but they seem to only want snail mail. We should mass mail them demanding a release of what the rest of the world is able to purchase from Honda. That Jap form is what I'm wanting, BADLY. It is the reason I bought the 900 way back in 82. Don't they get it???!!! What prevents us from finding a out-of-the-US source and shipping them here? Besides $$$. Any fourm members here (out of the us) who are dealers who want to work with us?
I don't like the new CB1100F because it is not (IMO) an update of the vintage 1100, but a new in-line air cooled 4. The design of the rear end is all wrong. |

Notice that Honda has not been referring to it as a CB1100F anymore? Just has CB1100 on the side covers too. Maybe that's to distance it a little for the enthusiast crowd that want a strict 2010 update to the '83 F?

They could call it the CB1100G for G is the next letter up, and stands for "GOOF".
But, we have seen the K series so maybe it could be the CB1100L and the L would be for "LAME". |
