Headlines of the Columbus Dispatch July 9th.

An off duty State trooper and a Gahana police officer were clocked going,147mph and 149 mph respectively on Interstate 70 at about 4.30PM.

It took several days to charge them.

There was a third bike with them that got away.

They seem to conviently forget that 25+ over a posted limit increases the crime from 2 points to 6 points. Racing is a separate 6 point crime, but they were not racing says the OHP. 12 points is license suspension for 3 yrs, high risk insurance, several days in jail for anyone else.

This is go directly to jail if any one of us did something so stupid during rush hour traffic,or any other time for that matter.

Car video shows the arresting officer laughing and commenting they were both in the same cop class.

They were clocked by aircraft with the comment to officer on the ground he has two bikes running like bullets coming at you.

Really crap when these guys KNEW that there are birds in the air and still took other peoples lives at risk in daytime, where they are snotting as hell for 5 over a limit to anyone else.

A girl sportbike rider I know got handcuffed and slammed on the hood of the police cruiser for doing 40 mph less than that, and she wasn't running. She was just tucked in position enjoying her ride and didn't look in her rear view for about a minute.

In a separate story Fort Polk, LA organized a motorcycle ride to promote safety. All went well until everyone was dismissed at the end of the event. Three riders from the event were clocked doing about 120mph on post about 20 minutes after the event. Guess you can only deal with so much safety stuff before you crack Smile

Their reply? "don't cry...apply"

How it really works...

Car video shows the arresting officer laughing and commenting they were both in the same cop class.

I was doing about 120 once on I-84 up near Boardman Oregon, saw a cop way behind chasing me, I slowed down and stopped. He hadn't radar'd me but saw me go by and wrote me up for 70mph (it was 55 everywhere back then).

35 dollar ticket.

Was doing 55 in a 35 in north Chicago and spent a night in jail for it...

My cb750f will only go 85mph, or so the speedo says...
