Hi guys,

Finally getting there, my bike took me for a ride today Embarassed
Everyting working real good! The new cams with 244 deg. duration seem to be much stronger than the 1100R I had before Twisted Evil
Riding position is a little harsh and inverted shifter tough to get into, But I'll get used to it.
Bike is done 95%, some little things before it is finished (such as an exhaust bracket).
A big thanks to everyone that helped, in particular Bernard (BORSteam), Pointdiver, the Smicks father and son and Spike.

some pics:

VERY nice, 2 thumbs up. We really have seen several nicely tricked up silver '81's lately. Bracemaker's, Norcal's, Pontiac's, and now yours. I've always been partial to the '82's but you guys are really making me reconsider.

Very nice, Sly.
I have always liked the look of the Wolf pipes.
I have always liked the howl that comes from a Wolf pipe as well.

Wow Wow

I am impressed, that bike is bad!!

Excellent work Sly (PHD) (I know, it's a little early, but you'll do fine!) I too would like to see more pics, and details of your build!

I'd also like to know what field your Doctorate will be in? What school are you attending? I'm considering doing one too, although it's a little late in life for me...

Thanks a lot for the compliments Smile

For the recessed tail-light, here is a thread I followed to fab the mounts: http://www.cb1100f.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=19089&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=900f+1100f&start=90

The instrument cluster is a mix of custom-made-radioshack-components light indicators (turns, neutral, high beam and oil), an electronic tach (don't remember what bike) and a pretty cheap electronic unit from trailtech (vapor) http://trailtech.net/
You can see a close up picture on a previous thread: http://www.cb1100f.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=44104&highlight=slygs+cb900f

Ben: this is the same frame with the same shock relocation. I actually had to cut part of the top tubing portion of the Ohlins to fit them in. I also might locate the shocks back to the original position, since I find the swingarm to be a little too much angled.

I will post a big thread with all the work described once it is 100% done.

Also, I forgot to mention special thanks to Cojones, Norcal, CB1100RR and Stoutblock for the help with questions regarding the swingarm adaptation.

S~

Looking at the agressive peg position I see how they could take getting used to, it would be a long ride to Wellsboro. Wink
I'll have to test ride it for you.... Laughing

Hi guys,

Thanks again for the compliments. It took a long time to do the built and there are still more things I need to do or modify.

I changed the peg position one notch down and one front. It's the advantage of the peg plate I fab'ed. It makes the bike much more rideable for everyday's purposes!

Pete: You are welcome to ride it, but I'll have to warn you, shifting gears is inverted, so you better make no mistake.
It is actually quite difficult. I almost made a big mistake by shifting from 3rd to 1st the other day. Now I am thinking twice each time I shift gear!

Maybe before the season is over but I'll just watch you, seeing as I'm working on my on new peg position. Once mine is sorted I'll come by and drop off a rotor tool for you to complete the finishing touches on her. Wink
