This will be an easy question. I tried the search but it was a needle in a haystack.

At the top of this website there is the welcome banner with two red bikes. One has the front fairing. The other has the gold wheels.

Is one a US model and the other not? What's the difference?

On the left is the US version CB1100F with the bikini fairing, I believe Canada and the rest of the world recieved the version on the right with no fairing and the gold boomerang wheels. Also I think non US has clip-on handlebars, tank badge w/ the wing and rear rail over the seat.

Thanks for answering such n00b questions.

How desirable are the non-US versions in the US? From posts I've read, it seems like the boomerang wheels are a popular change.

I'm no expert on importing parts but I have seen the gold wheels go for big money on ebay. I also read they are frequently warped so buyer beware. Now I live in the Northeast but have only seen one Canadisn 11F in the flesh and that was Tony's (TigerST) so they are not that common.

" I also read they are frequently warped so buyer beware."

One of those 'Internet Myths'.

No one has ever SEEN a warped one but everyone has read about one.

Define "warped"
I can show you a set that are "not true" Very Happy
If that is what you mean...

And only the Europeans got the "wing" on the tank..We (Canadians) got the same tanks as the US models..

The Aussie ones had the wing too!

Here's a picture of mine:

Cheers.

P.S. I'm not sure if my pic will turn up in the post as it's the first time I've tried this.

lol you can go in and edit your previous posts by clicking 'Edit' at the top right of the post you want to edit. Also, if my posts have anything other than just plain text (e.g. images, url's, quotes) I hit the 'Preview' button before I click 'Submit' to make sure it comes out the way I want it to. Very Happy It can be especially useful for multiple quotes and pics

just a thought

I like the wing on the back and the gold wheels. Wish mine had them...

Oh. Never noticed that "edit" button! Thanks for the tip Jesse.

You could powder coat your wheels in a nice gold maybe...could look pretty cool.

Yes, sorry about that...
Australian versions also have the funky reflector in the tail light...
I don't think anyone else got them..

That's an idea, maybe I'll invest in one of those personal powder coaters that I've seen talked about on here.
