Hey guys:

I stumbled across this sight last September while trying to repair the charging system on my 79 CB750f. Long story short rotor did the

trick and I have become addicted to this website so much that it occupies much of my web surfing time. I am amazed at how the

majority of the members will go out of their way to help a brother F'er with an issue whether it be educational, inspirational or just to

offer a helping hand. I also want to give a big thank you to Jeff Webster (thx113) for the large box of goodies that he sent me. Where

else can you send several hundred dollars to a someone you have never met half way across the world and get exactly what you were

looking for. I would do this again and there are other members that I would be more than happy to do business with. Anyway enough

rambling for now. Thanks for listening

Jerry

The 750f is in very good shape just getting ready for new silver paint and origional decals. I've been collecting parts all winter including Ohlins shocks, Daytona streering stabilizer with brackets, lattice style rearsets, euro/aussie controls and cables. Just need to get to new set of lower bars. I also traded a firearm for a red 83 1100f a couple of weeks ago so I have plenty of work to do I am just waiting for it to warm up just a bit.(no heat in my garage)
By the way Dave nice bike to ya.

Welcome Jerry. Good to see you posting.

Interesting, a swap of a firearm for an 11F. Nice job.

Post some pictures of both bikes when you get a chance.

Yeah Rob it was a $700 rifle for a red 1100f with a bad starter clutch, broken turn signal, faded paint, all original except for the seat cover.

Wow Jerry,

Sounds like you obtained a nice set of goodies. I am looking forward to seeing your work. Take lots of before pictures, I wish I had taken more.

I am on the lookout for some special items myself but the ones I want can be in high demand and fetch a hefty price. I'll have to have a bit o luck.

I used to own a Grizzly 660 (hence my handle). I sold it but the handle stuck with me. Twisted Evil Laughing

Thanks for the kind words Jerry. I too am looking forward to some pictures of the old bits and pieces put on the bike. Looks like you bought your 750 the same year I brought mine. Coming up to the 750 and my 26th anniversary (wife only up to 24th this year).

Welcome to the site, Jerry, I'm just a noob, too, but these fellas helped me get through a small electrical issue with the 900 last year, and I too have bought parts from some of the guys here, and have always been pleasantly surprised with the honesty and integrity of this group! Here's another example... we're planning a Spring Ride in New England in May, I'm from NH, and would love to have the opportunity to ride in NE, again, so I ask if anyone has an "extra" bike that needs exercise. Phil (Wamkap1100) offers up an extra bike, and I'll be able to make the ride! Great bunch of guys!

Jeff
I was a skinny 21 year old kid with a full head of hair when I purchased my 750f. I gave $850 for it. The po was a friend of mine that had never had a bike b/4. He laid the bike down and broke his arm a week after buying it. The bike came out of it much better than he did with a scratched mirror, bent peg, gouged rotor cover and scratches on the megaphone of the new Kerker header. His loss my gain. That guy has been trying to buy it back from me for about the last 5 years.

I have not met Phil in person but just from being a lurker here for about 4 months I could tell he is a stand up guy. For that reason I suggested he buy his brake pivot from thx113 and it could be shipped with my stuff from Aussie and I would forward it too him when it got here.

Yeah I dont see too many f'ers from Illinois on here but when I first started lurking here, a member from Clinton Il. had a 750 motor in the "for sale" forum. Hell I thought that I was the only person in this town of 8000 that had an F as they arent very plentiful around here.

welcome,

Nice silver surfer. Great shine on it, wish my silver surfer was half as nice. Keep coming back and try not to let negative fools driving you away, even a grouchy old SOB like me needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Some of the old dogs (especially the drag racers) have tons of knowledge hiding in the folds of their grey matter.

Grant.
