Does not make any sense to me, I would think it generates revenue and canceling will be a hardship on local folks. |

The economy being what it is, Honda may figure that the money is better spent elsewhere. May I suggest that they replace the service department assholes with someone that cares? |

Wouldn't you think folks would still show up just out of pure habit?
C'mon now. What if "They" canceled Sturgis? Wouldn't there still be a couple hundred thousand dirtbags converging on South Dakota? |

We will still have our annual get together in Pigeon Forge this coming June. Last year we even voted to move it to the week after the Hoot so there would be less traffic on the roads. We used the Hoot as a date but that was basically all it was. We went to the Hoot on Thursday for a half day to visit the vendor area. Most if not all is available at your local bike shops. I will be posting another thread very soon concerning this. I know most people have to put their vacation requests in at the beginning of the year. This years event will be scheduled for June 20th thru 27th. |

If you need an event to make the trip worth your while...maybe Americade would fit the bill? More bikes and people then you can shake a stick at.

....or maybe Laconia bike week?

Ya might even run into F biker types on some sort of "North East Ride" get together and score a room at the inn from a brother that happened to cancel out. Worked for me and my buds back in "O7". Funny thing is, we were not trying to hook up with any people/place/event,...just kinda stumbled across them in our travels. Still, it's rather cool when that happens.
If your truly out there for the riding then you don't need any other reason to ride then just the need to be on the bike going somewhere.
We are trying/targeting Cape Hatteras this year..but there is currently a glitch in my riding cadre's vacation schedules that is yet to be ironed out.
Sorry for the locals though...the Hoot is for sure a generator of local revenue. That's to bad it's a "no go" this year. The locals would still enjoy your company though,..that's a given. It's hard to beat the riding around the area.

Now now... a lot of those dirtbags are my friends and they think sporty riders are a bunch of stuck up snobs because they don't wave back.
I keep telling them that by the time the sporties see them wave they're already past |

Don't get me wrong. I wasn't referring to anyone's friends there. There's another hundred thousand or so who would show up that would be a friend, coworker or acquaintance. |

LOL
I don't know. Last event I went to, I was the ONLY F bike. Harley's are a dime a dozen it seems now. If you want to be just like everyone else, get one.
I'll keep my 900. |

A couple of years back they tried to cancel the annual rally in Hollister CA. Didn't work out too well. The townsfolk found themselves still dealing with a mob of bikes except this time they didn't have the extra law enforcement etc they usually had. They also weren't able to collect the usual fees from the vendor booths that they normally would have. |
