Just had to ride today..left my house at about 5:10am. The weather is predicted to day to be sunny and clear witha high of 55°...when I left it was 33° riding made it a bit colder. But then I kinda like riding this time of year...no bugs! Was just a short 22 mile jaunt to work..but man it feels good! Very Happy

I'm just getting the bike tuned up now but it will be a little while before I get it out--ice on the driveway this morning and cold weather coming in by the weekend. But it's always fun to try to get it out around here before the end of February, even though it's usually a polar bear run.

Well how do you like that? Nice cool morning ride to get the engines all revved up for work. I'm envious.

My last ride in October was at mid-day and 43 degF. Was invigorating to say the least.

Thanks for letting us ride along. Wink Laughing

The weather here on Long Island (downstate NY) has been around the 40's. Yesterday was a unusual 63F! Despite the overcast, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to ride that warm in February. Went on a 3 hour ride that almost circled the island. Next couple of days will be in the 30's.

Hopefully, the groundhog will be wrong this year and the rest of the winter will be the same. Although, here it can be tricky and a major snow storm breezes in. I stop at the first major snowfall as they use salt on the roads. Makes the bike really dirty and I don't want the corrosive salt on my bike!

I got a good ride in on Sunday but I was on the ST, it was only in the mid 40ties but the ST protects you from the wind so much I went 130 miles and could have went further but it was getting late. The roads are a bit sloppy and I hit one section on the winter side of the mountain that still had ice on the road. Like Peter said it won't be long now but this is when everybody starts to get antzie.

I just wait for the road to dry before I head out.
I got a few days in in December, and another couple last month...
Clearing the driveway is the hardest part...

We have had a mild winter so far. One cold snap for 4 days where it dropped into the 50s at night and a second snap for 3 days when it when down to the 60s. There is a down side to this nice weather. I need to replace valve seals on one of my bikes. I have had the parts for three months but the weather is to nice to stay home. That is the one and only one thing I miss about winter. You have a chance to rebuild or modify and not miss any riding. Oh well, everyone has sacrifices they must make.

Maybe the UK F'ers can elaborate but I've heard that they also slang £100 Pounds Sterling as a ton, so £100 = 100MPH (?) Bragging about 100KPH wouldn't work as well. Smile

It will be 4 deg on Sat here. No, I don't mean celcious, I'm talking 4 f. Way to cold to ride. I can't take the cold like I used to. 50 deg F is the limit for me. I may have to wait a while for that. I want to go to Texas Laughing
