This bike seems similar to the Suzuki B-King that was just tested in Cycleworld. I guess the "Transformers" type styling is shooting for a younger demographic than the one I belong to. I'm guessing the manufacturers think this type styling w/ big performance will be the next generation V-Max type bike.

ewwww I don't like it. Looks like a praying mantis kinda thing. Wheels and rims look good. I like the old school look.

I'd put a nice round headlight on it, take off that streetfighter crap on the front and cut the rear splash guard OFF.......... then maybe I'd be interested.

Right now it looks like a mecahnical bug! Also there is no contrast between the bodywork and the engine colors. Hides too much even without a fairing.

I don't mind the agressive front end styling all that much, but the stupid lightning bolt on the sides needs to go, and the rear fender, license bracket, and lights look like an afterthought.

I like it.

Looks alot better than the the new Kawasaki Z1.
KTM, Triumph, BMW, Buell, Yamaha, etc., are all making something in this style. I think it will compete very well.

Actually the ergonomics on these bikes are very good. Sit up bars, slight rearset pegs. Just not much wind protection at speed, & not much place to carry any gear with you.

The bit sticking out the back is not an after thought. It`s there to get it through various vehicle standards requirements. Just like signals that stick out a mile (look at yer stock F`er). They know most people are gonna chop it off. The aftermarket is gearing up with an "eliminator bracket" as we speak.

The 919 Hornet was criticized for being too bland, in performance & style. I think this is their answer to that.

Nothing wrong with trying to apeal to a younger demographic. I was at a bike show earlier in the month, & it looked like an old age home. No hot chicks to oogle at all Crying or Very sad

These bikes might catch the imagination of someone who can`t relate to Moto GP, the wannabe 1% crowd Rolling Eyes

, or their Grandad`s Honda. And "midlife crisis" types like me, like `em too Twisted Evil

I was waiting to see what people were going to say when I first saw this. "If honda would only build us a bike with big modern power and a normal riding position with good suspension I'd run right down to the dealers today." Well...this is it. While its n/a here, the yamaha FZ1 is. It took every ounce of my will power not to take that plunge. The candy red was beautiful. Losing a 100 pounds of bike would be nice too.

You know it actaully is just as bland as the 919. Cannot really see the engine in contrast to the rest of the bike and all they did is put some ziggyy zaggy plastic on it and a big ol flat cover over the down-lo pipe.

919:

New CB1000R:

Take that plastic facade off the front, give the engine and frames some contrast and it might start too look like a "real" naked bike. I think Honda missed it again, just like with the 919 and with the new CB1100F.

It may just be my tastes but this rendition of the New CB1100F courtesy of eatpasta is more to my liking:

Still needs some contrast and side covers but damn close.

When that "F" gets here, it'll be just as heavy as our bikes and it wont be any faster and we'll be complaining about both. Lets face it, great bikes are built, not bought.

Well... it should perform better than the 919, by a bunch.
Tho` the outer silhoutte maybe similar, I can see a single sided swing arm, bitchin` lookin` wheels, & alot of other stuff besides the zig zag.

Pasta`s version looks alot like an `83 CB11F Wink

. Of course everyone here likes that Exclamation

But let`s not get like the "Hardley" guys & trash everything that doesn`t look like an "old bike". I`ve met old guys who think that anything with more than one cylinder doesn`t look right.

I have an affection for the `57 Cadillac, but I don`t think they`ll build it again Exclamation

Man that thing looks like a cartoon! I hate the look of the new exhausts with the cat-converter. My guess is that it won't have any more power than the 919, even with the extra 100cc's because of the cat and new emission rules.

I actually think the 919 looks a whole lot better, there is definitely a CB family resemblence...it almost looks like a Super-F build.

I think they should of just given the 919 an extra 200cc's and a small well designed fairing.

I was talkinmg with my Dealer today about the new 1100F. He seems to think it is a very small niche maarket for it. The R should sell but the F will not. I showed him this website and he said OK, you have over 6,000 members. Lets say 20% buy the F, not gonna happen but lets say it does. That would be 1200 units from the #1 F bike site in the world. He also mentioned how Kawi had failed with the ZXR 1100 and 1200 retro bikes. Retro is neat but for a very small market share.
