I finally met the owner of the CB1300 here in Phoenix. I got a little history on it. It is the one that was for sale in Washington a few years back. There are only 2 copies in the states at the present time. It was imported from Japan and they bought the speedo's from England to convert it to mph. The best part about it is that he offered me to take it out on a test ride some time. I am pretty excited about the prospect of taking one aroound the block to see what it is like to ride.

Is it about the same size as your Bandit? They look a little bigger to me in the pictures.

Would love to know...
how much $$$$ ?
any trouble getting it registered ?
Could this be duplicated by someone that doesn't own a Honda dealership ?

I remember this bike! It was for sale in Olympia and I even called about it. I was very interested, but neither my wife nor my finances felt the same. It was listed for around $8000 if I remember correctly. I know they are not terribly fast given the cc's, but it would have been more than enough for my skill level, and it would have been unique as hell with the reliability of a modern bike. Cool!

If memory serves me correctly, it was listed for $10K. They had to do a few minor things to get it registered in the states. I remember that he said that they changed the speedo and something about the vin #. It is definitely bulkier than my Bandit. I would say that a good camparison would be the B-king. I guess it would be like a sit up version of a Haybusa. Being that it is a watercooled 1300CC motor, it does have its bulk. Probably in the next week or two, I will see about getting a hold of him for a ride.

I'm pretty sure it was quite a bit under $10 grand, but I also remember it being for sale for quite a while, so maybe it started out higher and they dropped it over time. Even after I called about it, it was listed in the cycletraderonline for several months. Then again, it may have been more than I'm remembering. My memory fails me often! I would have Loved to have bought it for the $8000 I remembered, if only I'd had the $$$ available. What a unique bike. (here at least)

I only remember the details because I had that cash in hand to buy it. I was seriously considering buying it.
