That gay chrome rear fender makes it a K-Model, not a Super Sport.
If it was not for that gay fender, it would be a really nice bike but, a chrome tail fender is for a limp wristed rider. |

I think the tank looks like a Nighthawk tank and should look more like a CB1300 tank.
The seat isn't too bad I suppose.
But that rear chrome fender has to go - it should also be styled after the CB1300.
At least it's a start. |

The fender problem isn't anything a bit of black spray paint or a fender-ectomy can't fix. I bet that baby'd spank even some of the best SuperFs around here. |

I don't see a retro 1100, I see a fresh new supply of OEM cam chain tensioners, bucket shims, valve stem seals, air boxes, boots, gaskets, and more. I think I like it. |

Can we get the full story? I'd like to read it.
That engine is completely different from the old DOHC, I don't think there'll be any swapping of internals or charging components, at least not easily! |

The bike is designated as the CB1100, don't confuse that with the CB1100"F" designation. Yeah, it's ugly. |

Its certainly is not marketed as a sport bike in anyway way shape or form. They have all the various RRs for that besides the CB1300R, not to mention the 919. If anyone bought one of these with a sporting intent he or she would have made a mistake. Even a Valkery would blow its doors er.... sidecovers off.
It looks like it would be a nice bike but clearly one that would sit on dealers showrooms in america. Think Zephyr 1993. Now consider that that model was still being made and sold around the world up until '04. Now you know why we dont get shit over here unless its a lock to sell.
Hell, there are very few of us on here who would spend 12 or 13Gs on one motorcycle anyway. Want to? Sure. Actually do it? I dunno. I'd consider the cb1300f but want it for 8 or 9Gs. |

You know I`m shure that bike is for some folks.
But likes been said its a little too chrome and nighthawkish.
But why if they are willing to put that much HP and suspension into it, then why not do the bodywork too.
Maybe they are just feeling out the market for feedback. |

Don't get your hopes up. It will snow in Hawaii before Honda brings that bike (or something similar without the gay fender) to the states. |

I bet it doesn't make that much more horsepower than our bikes. In fact most of the super F's would probably blow its doors off. They probably put mild cams, a restricted intake, and a detuned chip in it. I'll take the gay chrome over a ton of plastic shrouds with lame graphics on em any day. Open up the intake, put a set of hot cams in and a performance chip and I bet that beast would roar. I bet someone could figure out a way to put an F tailpiece and a nice fender maybe off a vfr or cbr on it and it would look great too. Since they will never bring it to this side of the pond I guess we don't have to worry about it though. Besides for the price you could have 2 really nice F's, an old Goldwing, and a KLR650. |

Don't worry Stan… that will be my government not yours! MCN is a UK rag.

I'm worried...I don't often read MCN but read this while stuck in a waiting room for hours...didn't make me feel any happier!
The bike wasn't quite as nice as I expected but then honda generally makes the first generation pretty ugly and then refines it! Thought the engine's looks was a nice tribute to ours! |

I agree with you Pete, the engine looks like the nicest part.
And it DOES have a proper double cradle steel frame, dual shocks, and some snazzy wheels.
It likely just needs a bit of tweaking. |

It looks like the upgrade/successor to the old discontinued CB750 "loss-leader" bike that has been around forever. Same nighthawkish crankcase and clutch covers. If so we won't be able to use any parts. Also those CB750's were really tame. |
