I Got To Vent

I went out for a ride this morning, it was beautiful out, 68-deg's, sunny, just a great day for a ride. I stick to lower volume traveled roads, anyway, I am in the left lane on the left side of the lane, I am going 45-mph (the speedlimit) and I am just about to go past a guy in the right lane doing about 40-mph, I catch a glimpse of another car in the right lane going faster than me and not slowing down. My front wheel is even with the guy in the right lanes bumper, and the other car never slows down, she jumps into my lane and passes me, in my lane, her mirror was no further than 6-inches from my handlebar. I am so pissed I am giving her the finger and wanted to catch her at the next light so I could give her a piece of my mind. I watched her in traffic cutting people off, jumping back and forth in the lanes and I thought to myself this lady is nuts!! And it dawned on me that she is in a 3,000-lb car and I am on a 576-lb motorcycle and figured I would have to just eat the frustration even though I wanted to beat the crap out of this sloppy, fat, ugly bitch!!!! Evil or Very Mad

I even thought of following her until she stopped and left her car for me to trash her tires, and maybe create some art work on her paint with my knife, but she ran the red light......and that was that.

This is the first time I EVER had anyone do something like this intentionally, I have had all kinds of incidents with cars but for the most part it was unintentional (I think), this BITCH actually did not care if she would have killed me. Thanks for letting me vent.

Good job. It's called Road Rage and you did not let it get the better of you.

I was pissed off just reading your chronology of events.

You can be proud of yourself for not running that bitch down and giving her what she deserves.

Eventually what goes around comes around. She'll get hers. It will either be a ticket, an accident or (hopefully) a slooooowwww, agonizing death where she's suffering from multiple impalations, while burning to death, trapped upsidedown in her car after misjudging the distance while cutting off a semi on the freeway in rush hour traffic.

Don't get me started on dopey cows in their cars. I was litterally bounced off the road a couple of years ago by a woman in a small beige Volvo whislt riding my XJR1300. She shot straight out of a side road, side swiped a car and then bounced me through the hedgerow. She didn't even slow down,let alone stop. Evil or Very Mad

However, the cop three cars behind me saw the whole thing and shot off after her - I hope he threw the book at her.

I can only hope that there is Karma.....

Trust me, I was pissed, if I could have safely caught her I'm not sure what I would have done, I have never hit a woman, but this one I would have made and exception, this is the first time someone intentionally cut me off and did not care if they killed me so they could save 10 to 15 seconds on their trip.

Ive decided the next time something like that happens to me, Im not going to freak out. Just follow them to wherever they go and after they leave their car, take my pocket knife and just barely cut the valve stems on each tire.

That seems to be about right.

I thought about following her, but the way she was driving I would have put myself in danger.....and after she ran the red light she was gone. Leaving me frustrated.

I would have definitely at least filed a complaint with CHP or something. I have done that a few times in LA with cab drivers... they are horrible.

Maybe we can establish some kind of Motorcycle Vigilante Squad where you can blackball cars by using pictures and a web forum. Then you can go find them and a group of 30 bikers can wreck the car with baseball bats....

...... just thinking out loud.

The cops would laugh at you for filing an attempted murder complaint. HOWEVER, if a few people had their cars destroyed by angry bikers..... the might faking listen.

Most of the drivers around here in LA are pretty good about bikes, but every now and then you find someone who really needs to have a beat down....

I had a no mind like that pull right out in front of me across the hiway while i was going the limit..she was looking right at me..I made sure..and couldnt believe it when she started to cross!!

I did the swerve,brake think and missed her back bumper by a hair..i DID follow the %&^*&^&* for 15 minutes right to her door! Asked her if she was blind or just stupid..by then i had cooled down a bit and left it at that. she just stared at me with that typical zero look....she did however know I was following her as she drove all over the neighborhood looking in her mirror at me...But the best part was I was back 2 hrs later in a buddies truck and we stopped at a traffic light and whoa! right beside us was the same woman! I waved at her, got her to roll her window down and ask her If she had killed anyone on a bike yet today!! that got a good reaction I tell you!!!

In the end, still shoulda shot the bitch in the knee...

Sometimes we think we're the only ones who get treated like this, then again, we have much more to lose when we're on our bikes. I see these idiots everyday and they dont care if its a bike or a semi, their going where they want when they want. I was on 95 south near bridgeport and in my rear view I see an idiot coming at about 85+ in the slow lane. There is so much traffic this guy is about to be screwed big time. As I watch him get closer he never even hits the brakes and splits lanes just as he's about to rear end the car in his lane and somehow doesnt hit the guy in the next lane. To this very day I have no idea how he didnt hit either, if not both of them. The topper? He got off the highway about 300 yards up. Rolling Eyes

I had a girl who was coming off the highway and was hoping to just roll the stop sign but she had to wait for me to pass in my dodge truck, but at the last second she got impatient and started rolling as I got closer. Mind you I'm going about 50. She ended up hitting the very back of my truck putting an ever so small crease in the rear fender. I pulled around and she stopped, I asked what color stop signs were in her state. She giggled. Rolling Eyes

A 60 year old veteran who voluteered all over the place was rding his 06 tour glide monday when a 17 year old crossed two lanes and hit him head on killing him. This was about a mile and half from my house. Revenge? What kind of revenge would make that right?

Well i guess its happening everywhere. Peoples driving (and people in general) are changing.
Maybe reflecting a more selfish population i dont know, But it didnt used to be this bad.
I know you just cant go fast enough for 75 percent of the drivers on the road.
4th of july morning was nice though.
Light traffic and lots of room but still 80-100MPH was the norm.
I sat back in the 3-4 lanes at 70 or so and had a nice ride.
Have you noticed drivers inability to pace the car ahead.
They seem to know only how to close in or change lanes, usually only saving seconds off their drive time.
Its not that speed doesnt have its place. Speed is good when the conditions are right.
I dont know but peoples common sence seems to be diminishing.
I can see why we dont live past 100..Who would want to.

I am starting to think we have to actually find a way to do something about this crap. Really Mad

The people speeding in my neighborhood is driving me crazy. I have a 10 year old son who rides his bike on these roads and I only can say that my family will lose two of us if someone hits my kid. I will make sure there is justice for sure (no court, no waiting just going to take action).

I want to put up a big board at the end of the neighborhood and post the pictures of the people, their cars and their addresses and make a proclamation about how they speed in our neighborhood. I'd proably get sued for defamataion of character I bet.

Anyway, just look in the stores how no one is looking out for themselves!!! We have to walk around them when they step in front of us and stop or walk out of an isle without even a care in the world. I just run into them anymore and say better watch out where you are going, I WAS.

I am driving a truck with a slide in camper for the summer and I get people cutting me off everyday or pulling out in front of me and making me slow down. they seem hell bent to get around me even if I'm doing 10 mph friggin over the posted speed limit. They actaully end up going slower than me evenutally and it is driving me nuts. My son told me when I told a guy at the next light he was an asshole that I was going to get into a fight and I said good, then these people will learn of there mistake and actaully pay the consequences when I kick their ass. soapbox

I guess I need to think about this and calm down. I hereby solemly promise not to run over stupid people in their own little world in the mall over anymore, fight with a yahoo who just cannot seem to be behind a camper that can outdrive him to begin with, throw ball bearings at the stupiud phone whale bitches who look at you while they are trying to kill you, not to take pictures of my neighbors who are going to kill a kid someday and last I promise not to shoot anyone for fucking up with the wrong guy. Fight

When I first began riding I was very timid, rode the speed limit, and would allow enough space and time for all vehicles sharing the road to drive within legal limit. I spent a year getting cut off, being pushed to the edge of my lane, run into gravel, and passed routinely while obeying speed limits. I have since learned that my best protection is the throttle and to use it decisively.

Currently I am riding with my girlfriend who has a permit. She's doing well but it's easy to see that she's not taking advantage of her throttle (even though it is a smaller and slower bike) when necessary. She is constantly falling far enough behind that other vehicles see the opening and cut in front of her. I don't understand the negative persona of bikers when it seems like most of the time I'm holding back the four wheel traffic while going 5-10mph over. We were cruising at 60 yesterday and I was leading by a few car lengths and people just couldn't leave us alone. Here we are on an open stretch of road going 60mph and I look behind us to see almost a dozen cars bumper to bumper trying to edge their way around us. They each took their turn leap-frogging my girlfriend and I until we turned off the road.

Does anyone else occasionally feel like a hypocrite and tell their significant other not to ride because it's too dangerous?

That is exactly why I stay off freeways/divided 4-lane highways and stay on two lane highways and county roads. I just can't get comfortable at 65-75 mph with merging traffic and cars/trucks/SUVs jockeying for position.

Vigilanteism(sic?) is indeed the answer. People shouldn't be concerned about hitting a bike: they should be freaking TERRIFIED. When I'm in traffic, it would be comforting to know that the cagers believe that if they hit me, my friends will burn down their houses and perhaps roast them on spits. But we are all too civilized for that, and besides why commit a felony, what you could just commit a simple misdemenor and get someone else to do the dirty work.

How about a little epoxy and a suitable bumper sticker?

"H-A? gotta be gay!"

or maybe

"WHITE POWER!" (geographically dependent)

"Screw the Troops!" (works in anywhere in N.A.)

"I love Osama" or "Bin Laden On Board" (ought to get similar results)

BUT I may have heard from a friend of of a friend of a friend...

Should you locate the son of #*@+% that caused you grief the following are great stress relievers.
Small pebble tightly jammed in the valve stem cap. The air slowly leaks out of all 4 tires and when they get the repairs done that they did not need, the stone is still in the cap and they get 4 MORE FLATS!!!

And did you know that certain engine fluids should never come in contact with the finished paint of a car?? I hear it strips it.. Twisted Evil

On that same note you should never store fruits or veggies 10 to 12 inches up your tail pipe either..

Could you imagine if someone put round-up weed killer in a spray bottle and then spelled out words on someones grass..In say 24 hours those words would be very very clear to the general public..

Then again you could always just count to 10 and move on...which is what I strongly suggest....

And remember, 10 minutes before shift change always gets you the worst responce time Wink

Just having a place like this to vent, with sympathetic souls was a great place for me to relieve my stress and frustration. I am at this point glad I could not go after her, I'm sure I would have done something really stupid. At this point, I am chalking this up as a learning event, I will now drive down the middle of the road (very little oil away from intersections, check it out) and go back to the sides only at intersections where the oil is heaviest. I learned that I have to take control of my lane, don't give people the room to go around me, when I make right hand turns from now on I am riding on the left side of the lane so people can't go around my left side. I am also trying to think of other ways to control my lane, if I think of them I will post them. If you guys have any good suggestions on lane control let me know, I am sure others will also benifit from these ideas.

A couple of weeks ago, some asshole in a new corvette roadster really got my blood boiling.

My girlfriend and I were traveling from Corvallis to Vancouver at night. She in her Taurus, and me on the Goldwing. Its a little over 100 miles and she was tired so I was following to keep an eye on her driving. About 20 miles into our trip we hit the freeway construction near Salem where posted speed limits drop to 50. It was right at that point that I noticed Mr. Vette, hereafter referred to as Tinydick McCocksuck, merged between her car and my bike and proceeded to tailgate her at about 3 feet. If you aren't familiar with the area, there are TWO lanes through here, and the left hand lane was unoccupied (He had gobs of room to pass but chose not to, a scenario which repeats itself throughout my story). I did what any red blooded, short tempered cyclist would do, which was to run up on HIS ass with my brights on. Now the 'Wing may be a bit beefier than our F's but its still a few thousand pounds shy of being equal to a V-8 roadwhore.

Tinydick McCocksuck tailgated my gf all through the construction area, despite her changing lanes several times to let him pass. When we got back into 65mph territory, my gf opened up enough distance between them for me to squeeze in. For the next 45 miles we played a reckless game of cat and mouse, because everywhere that my gf went, Tinydick was sure to follow. Every lane change, every time she sped up or slowed down, there was Tinydick trying to get between me and my significant other. AT NO POINT did Mr. McCocksuck try to pass her, despite the relatively light I-5 late-night traffic. His only apparent goal was to lock onto my gf's Taurus and ride her wake from as short a distance as possible. A few times he changed lanes and moved at speeds up to 100mph to get around me, but my 'Wing was making Warp Factor 5 to make sure he couldn't get between us again. Once I'd close the gap to my gf's car leaving no room to merge between, he'd fall back 30 yards right behind me like clockwork. I don't know for sure if he ever made the connection between the car he was chasing and the motorcycle behind it, despite several birdies I flipped him at traffic choke points. He never tried tailgating or aggressive posturing with ME, but only with my gf, which is what really lit my fuse. Fuck with me and I'll hurt you. Fuck with my gf and I'll end you.

I wasn't trying to impede his journey. I never kept him from passing the BOTH of us. But I was gonna be damned if I was gonna let him terrorize my gf. I had to count to 10 more than once to keep from doing something stupid, and if I'd had an iron pipe or bag of ball bearings in my pocket I probably would have used them. I was praying, PRAYING that he would pull into the rest stop outside of Wilsonville, because I was gonna be right there to give him a quiet voiced, fists-clenched-in-his-shirt-collar-fear-every-biker-you-see-from-now-on piece of my mind. Alas he departed the freeway soon after the rest stop, and I had to just swallow the rage, shake it off and be glad nothing worse came of it than my unsatisfied need for vengeance. I'll probably never know what his game was, whether he was drunk with power from his shiny new penismobile, or just trying to impress the ho-bag in the passenger seat.

The good news is that there aren't many of those roadster models around this area, and I'll be watching... Twisted Evil

Back when i was a hooligan and rode a harley one of my riding buddies had a bike with a custom coffin tank and a gas cap that was about 5 pounds used to smash the front windshields of anyone that pissed him off.
He made quit a few of them.
The bike did get a photoshoot in easy rider though.

WhiteCloud, the best thing is to just let them go.

I find the best way to deal with the overly aggressive and timid idiots on the road is to ride and drive just short of aggressive and don't let them get to you. Maybe it should be called pro-active driving/riding. Establish yourself in your lane and stick your vehicle in that opening in the next lane when you need to move over. Use horn/lights to warn or admonish.

It really bugs me when I'm doing 80-85 in the leftmost lane and some clown comes up behind so fast I don't have time to get out of the way. Pardon me for being an obstacle to your pickup/SUV while you're on the phone. I usually pass them a little way up the road anyway.
