I am building my next creation starting this weekend and part of the new front end just got here from ebay, a CBR F-3 lower triple tree that I got cheap.
Image
The new to me F-2 forks will be here any day now too.
The part I just paid for online is the trick part of the CBR front end going on the bike, it is a bad ass top clamp with handlebar risers built in for me to use CB400F handleabrs instead of clip ons that would kill my back.
Check out this set up. I only bought the top clamp without the bar or brake line stuff and saved myself $160.00.
Image
Here is a link to Spiegler if anyone is interested in a handlebar on the CBR conversion instead of the clip ons. http://www.spieglerusa.com/cfm/sbk.cfm
The front brakes are from a 996 Super Hawk 4 piston Nissin calipers and master with remote res. Cool
Image
I have had a couple of CBR swing arms in a box for two years now and I am finally going to use one of them.
Image
You all have seen this lovely tank going on the bike before but here it is again.
Image
The tail cowling is being made up for me in Australia to fit the new to me CB750F frame that should be here on Saturday when Sacto Sport drops it off at my house. Can you believe the coolness of the people on this site? Hand delivering a part from 400 miles away.
My red bike is being released to me at any time and I will be able to take the motor and other goodies that did not get destroyed in the wreck on March 4th and put them where I can on the new bike.
I am going to put all my R parts together for this bike and make what I hope will turn out to be a one of a kind R replica bike because of all the stuff going into her from all different Hondas.

May the road rise up to meet you on this build and never lead you astray, and you better damn well post some pics along the way Twisted Evil. Ok I'm a little envious I just started looking at F2 parts on ebay but it will have to wait until winter.

You have the perfect start of a super F already... Just start looking for some wheels and some other goodies (exhaust, rearsets, etc.. ) , you can always put it back to stock if you want to sell it. And the best part is you can do a little at a time and still ride your sweet bike as it turns into a super F.

It is good to see you post again moon, where have you been? The creative juices are flowing big time and this bike has a bigger budget and longer time frame to get built in. When are you gonna come riding with us? We do not care if you ride the VTX as long as you come riding with us.

Peter, those bikes give me lots of ideas {and funny feelings in my loins Shocked }.
But mine is going to be black and I am thinking about some smoked texture in the paint to go along with the either gold or white "wing" decals for the tank and I can't get the idea of a red frame out of my mind.

Hi, Ray
Sorry to break in like this but I really would like your opinion. This bike is in my area and its dirt cheap what do you think, I would use the front forks, rims, rotors, calipers, but i'm not to sure about the swingarm. I would basically scavenge the cycle of all the good parts and sell the rest.
Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

You all can count lots of pics as usual from me and my Nikon.
Lurch, that looks like an F-1 and they don't quite cut the mustard but you could manage to use those parts I guess.

That is one of my favorites also that I am taking inspiration from but there will be no chrome on my bike except for the hardware and the fork tubes.

Without a fuggin doubt that is one of the sickest machines anywhere on the planet! Since day one when I first saw that bike I was hooked on my own bike. Thats when I knew the sky was the limit. The artist that dreamed up putting together that paint scheme with those wheels, brakes, forks and chrome headlight has an unbelievable imagination. Ray, I wish you much success on you build. I see where you're going and its going to look great with the black motor. Good luck! Wink

Looks cool, that the blade rear wheel Ray? What are your further plans on the engine and drivetrain?

Petrat: front fork looks like a VF1000R, look at the quick release system on the bottom and compare. Just polished though.

Ya Midnight I think you're right....front fender looks the same as the VF1000R too. The VF had comstar style wheels though, any idea about the wheels? I am also not sure about the rear swingarm....I dont think its a metmachex, jmc, or calfab.......what about OverRacing?

Sorry Ray about jacking the thread.....I guess I should start another on disecting this bike's parts!

No Eddy, that is an F-2 wheel, the 900RR wheel would not fit in this swing arm. I am buying a 900RR swinger from Lee to use on this bike and I am gonna be needing an off set front sprocket.
I am using this swing arm that I just happen to have laying around to set up my Pro-Link shock and then will most likely put this swinger on another bike after this one.
I need steel to cut up and weld with and am going to the store for some 1/8" cold rolled steel that I can use for this job recommended by my welding wizard.
I also need a few other little odd & ends of sheet metal to make my new battery box.
I am having a problem locating a CB900F steering head pin from a lower clamp. I had two of them but they have gone away to never never land. Does anyone have a CB900F triple tree pin thay can part with?
