I do not know where you ride that bike of yours AJ but I suggest you stop riding through bails of this stuff.
I would have had the chain & sprockets done too but there was no chain and the front sprocket was wrong. They sent a 17 when CB1100F's take an 18 tooth front sprocket.

Front sprockets are supposed to be 18s on our CB1100Fs and that is all there is to it. A 17 tooth sprocket brings the cruising revs up way too much and I will not install one on any of mine or my friends bikes.
This is another example of the book being wrong and experience being right just like the valve lash. |

WTF? Did you hit a chicken or something? I have never seen a air filter in a bike look like that. How was the bike running with that filter? |

You guys are funny and Nick with the chicken bit had me rolling.
There is no choice and the bike has to go together with a 17 tooth sprocket because they do not have any 18 tooth sprockets now and AJ is cool with the 17.
Your bike will be ready today AJ.
That stuff that came out of the crank case as oil was disgusting man, I mean disgusting. You need to take better care of this bike or I am going to break my foot off in your ass. |

I pulled my airfilter out once and it was jammed with a huge mouse nest. No wonder it wouldn't rev past 6 grand without bogging down. |

I had a Beemer once that had the entire headlight (between the lens and the reflector) jammed with dog kibble... I didn't notice it during the day except for a strange burning smell periodically. It was only after I tried to get home late one night on it that I realized that kibble does not reflect light too well. |

Yes, mice love those stock airboxes.
As far as that stuff that Ray pulled out of there?
Hopefully AJ doesn't need that stuffing for anything. |

Emgo paper filters are where it is at when it comes to replacing that filter since Honda charges like $43.00 or some crazy number for their new element.
AJ has priors for running over things on his bike that can and have caused some serious issues with his bikes in the past and this stuff is no different. What it is I am not quite sure, how it got there, I aint quite sure. Will the bike run better? Hell yes, she will pull the front wheel with eaze now that she can breathe and has a 17 tooth front sprocket.
I took off an 18 tooth sprocket and AJ is going to complain about his poor gas mileage but oh well. The bike is fixed now and I had the pleasure of fixing it.
The valve lash is set properly and the cam chains are now tight even though it was only one I had to tighten, cam chain "A". "B" was tight and that bike is ready for another season or 3000 miles which ever comes first.
Life is good when I am working on CB-Fs |

Oh HELL.
This is what i get when I entrust Ray to work on my bike, public humiliation...
I have NO IDEA how the hell that crap got in there. It must be Luke's fault!
... the only thing I can think of is, many of the asain people in my building have dogs. There is hair all over the place.
I do cover it while it's in the garage though...
I have to immediately cop out on that in my lease it is actually written that I CANNOT work on any type of vehicle, or I run the risk of getting evicted.
So, on that flimsy pretext, I therefore couldn't not take the four bolts off my air-filter and clean it out. Ya know what.... it was actually running REALLY well when I dropped it off. You may want to put all that crap back in the filter! Or just go run over a Pomeranian...
Thanks though Ray, for, yet again, looking out for me. And just so you know, that oil only had about 2500 miles on it.... |

The humiliation was not supposed to really be that severe, I apologize.
That oil looked like it had about 10,000 miles on it, it was black as black can be and smelled really bad too. How long had it been since your little red cutie had been to Marcelo's for an oil change?
I really did have fun working on your bike today, thank you for going to Marcelo's and letting us take care of your bike. |

I cant believe that it even ran. Seriously.
I did buy a 650 yamaha that hadnt been started in years. Hit it with the starter fluid and she started spurtering, then slowly she started to rev. Or least it wanted to. Then all of a sudden dog food pellets start flying out the stock exhaust, which is like 3 feet long and must've been full!! Easily traveling a good fifty feet into the woods across the street. The seat which was also stock and looking nice had all the stuffing eaten out of it from one of the holes under the metal pan. I dont keep seats on bikes when stored in sheds anymore. |

My guess is that it was running rich due to the mouse-manufactured choke that was always engaged.
This in turn dumped lots of gas in the cylinders, yielding a very dirty combustion, and poluting the oil pretty quickly.
We always change the oil, sometimes flush it once, when a car comes in with a rich running condition. Just a good precaution.
EDIT:
all this talk about hitting chickens and sheep reminds me of a funny story.
Me and a few friends, in my highschool days (not too long ago) were driving around, when all the sudden a chicken appears in the road around the bend. We, being the devious miscreants that we were/are, didn't slow down. We hit the chicken at about 25mph. A plume of feathers went up in front of the car, Eric slammed on the brakes and we came to a stop, laughing hysterically. Once we collected ourselves, Eric put the car in drive, and just as the tranny engaged, OUT FLIES A CHICKEN! Somehow the bird flew out from under the car and scurried across the road flapping its wings, eventually taking off about 3' above the ground into the woods. Hilarity ensued. |

That is some pretty funny shit right there man because when we were in my friends 68 Delmont 88 in 1978 and we hit that cat, dude stopped the car, backed up and made sure the cat was dead with a neutral drop that shot the cat out the back of the car and made it fly like 40 feet. The cat did not die right away though because while we were laughing our stoned asses off, the cat got up and ran into the woods. |

My bike has places that still stink like skunk when wet. From last year. Ran through some road kill one time. Couldn't avoid it.

Dood - I have NO IDEA where the hell that crap came from. She sure ran good today when I rode her into work... that is untill the rear wheel came loose. SOMEONE forgot to tighten the right bolt on the end of the swing arm....its tough to lane split when the rear wheel is trying to go a different direction than the front...
so its Ray thats sabotaging me !
