Incredible. Man he can ride but he is not to smart. I was afraid he was going to wad it up. Fleeing and eluding and wreckless will be his charges. Not too heavy. probably 12 points and a short suspension and the biggest fine the judge can give him. I would have pulled over. He should have went clothes and hat shopping then called a friend from a pay phone. Maybe he could have got away maybe. I'm sure there are cameras in the mall the cops could review also. |

If that was his bike, he was screwed to begin with.
The guy had fun though.
If I could get away with it, that would be too much fun.
But then again I am little crazy.
That Hotwheels chase kicks ass. The sounds are sweet too. |

He still left his bike. They'd check the plates and end up at his house.
People like them make it harder on the rest of us. I got pulled over several years ago on my Honda chopper. I didn't hear them right away and they thought I was running. When I did stop they were a little rough on me. Luckily I wear a full face. Come to find out the night before some jerkoff was trying to out run the cops and nearly ran a few of them over in the process. There was also a wannabe bike gang near wear I kept the bike and they thought I was one of them. I think one of the cops had a neapolian disorder. They were very nice once I got to the station and realized that I did nothing wrong other than not stopping for a block or two. |

Looks like I am the only dissident here - the only skill he seemeds to show was in lane splitting - open freeway running, with the throttle open: so what?
He looks to me like someone who has been watching too many of the Ghostrider DVDs, but is too clueless to make one of his own. |

Good point.
But it does take skill to keep your cool at speeds like that. They were saying in excess of 120mph. He was easily doing 150+ in traffic. Not sure how often you do that in the land of OZ, but that takes skill.
I have split lanes, and done some stupid stuff. But not at that speed, and not while being chased by Police Helicopters.
Could I do it? With the right bike, sure. But I don't plan to anytime soon. |

yea if he had any brains he would have picked up a new set of clothes in the store, gone into the main part of the mall, and have said nothing about the bike, except he should have called his insurance company, by cell phone, while putting on new clothes, to said that he let some guy test ride his bike about 20 min ago and the guy is not back yet, what should he do about that?
The insurance company would have timed his call and told him to call the cops, then when he gets home in the new outfit, he calls and says my insurance company said to call you guys, wow, man, really, well the guy was about my size, my race, my height, etc. Oh and I lent this guy all my gear for the test ride, so look for a guy in a white jacket, XXX helmet, ETC. Really, wow, yea that sounds like my gear, when can I get it back?
No brains these guys. |

Well short of being dumb for not using the 3 level parking structure to dissapear in(that mall is a couple miles from me)
If he would have went into the second level he couldnt have been identified.
The freeway in the beginning has an "S" sweep to it he manuevered through nicely, The first transition ramp he took , I take regularly too and he was accelerating through it nicely. The last transition ramp to the east 10 fwy is darn near hairpinned and underneath the upper level it starts out sharp and he made good time under it considering he also had to merge with another ramp unseen from the areal shot.
I would say the guy had skills, even splitting traffic at those speeds takes nerves of steel. iI once did it at 90-110 MPH and had to quit, It gets to ya. |

Well, the guys not too smart if its his bike, but he might be even less intelligent if it isn't his bike. He had quite a head start on the cops so he should have been able to find a place to ditch the bike without being seen. He couldn't hear the helicopter hovering over his head? I've been to LA exactly once so bear with me. What time of day was this? The freeways were jammed all the time I was out there and at times they looked nearly empty in this video. Same thing for the mall parking lot, its nearly empty too. As far as his riding goes, I've seen idiots zip in and out of traffic like that before. All it does is give motorcycle riders a bad name. I didn't even see the cops chasing him until they showed up at the mall although he did pass at least one cop in a black and white. |

He had Police Choppers on him the whole way, although he lost all the ground pursuits. Underground, or large parking places are the way to go.
One better than that is an Airport. By the time they get Jets to stop landing and taking off for clearance, you are long lost. And Choppers only have so much range when they are going 130mph. You can actually run them out of fuel from what I have heard. But I don't think that would be the best plan.
Nope. The smartest plan yet is to just do the speed limit. Or be smart about it, of you choose not to. And if you are "lit up", pull the F over. (Not saying an F'er would do that. The F was an obvious replacement for a 4 letter word, that would be less than desirable on this side of the double yellow...) |
