Here is a picture of my red bike from just under 3 years ago.
Image
And here is a picture I took an hour ago.

Time has been very nice to my bike, she is better looking now than she ever was in her past. She is what I call a hot rod.

I can't get back that far, but I am sure someone can.

Thank you for all the kind words people, Tom. Wink

Red is prettier and faster but soon my blue bike will be set up just like the red one with an 1123 motor and a pair of those groovy shocks and everything.

Geez my 1100F looked like a serious POS with major possibilities i wasn't even aware of years ago Shocked Laughing

I'm sad and glad at the same time that i do not have pictures of when 1st got it and the memories are too much as is , a real mess it was Exclamation

But i do have a picture someplace the PO gave me of what it looked like before the wreck and it don't look too bad in that one .

Nice work on your bike. I kinda like the stock F look, but I can appreciate the work that goes into making your bike your own. My other ride is a Harley and they stay stock for about 7 seconds after they leave the showroom floor.

What IS up with the anal "post your location its a requirement"? Seems kinda unfriendly when that is the first response to a newbys question.

Thank you.
The location thing is an intelligence test, it is to see if one is smart enough to read the directions. But evidently there are more and more pussies riding vintage motorcycles nowadays with very thin skin and when they are asked to follow directions they cry and claim they are being picked on unfairly.

It's kind of a hint that you violated the 2 min rule*.

Before you posted you did not read the front page in it's entirety.

You did not go through the FAQ section.

I got spanked for it my self, but I claim ingnorance as I am/was not forum savvy when I came looking for info.

People who have been on the site for a while get tired of kindly reminding newbies of the error of there ways.

* The 2 minute rule
Any one coming into a conversation that is already in progress should listen for 2 minutes before adding to the conversation, This helps to prevent the new member from looking like and idiot.

Personaly I think that filling in your location is nothing but a benifit to youself and to others. I have been very fortunate to find another F'er just a few miles away who has a lot of knowledge about these bikes and is very helpful.

Is there anyone else that wants to put pictures of there CB-F "Before & After"? I would sure like to see the metomorphasis that you all have put your bikes through also.
This is not about location, this is about the changes that have gone on to our/my bikes in the past few years.
Please disregard any posts that do not pertain to the changes our bikes have gone through?
My blue bike has gone through quite a few changes also since the day I brought her home from the junk yard I bought her at.
Image
She was red and in some pretty sad shape and then after I finally got her all together, I crashed her.
Image
I put her back together again and this time I made her blue so I could have one of each.
Image
After my CB7/1123 Super F was killed, I took her wheels and motor and installed them on the red bike.
Image
I soon followed suit with the blue bike and made her a Super F also.
Image
Then last year Martin came up with the SMF connection and I installed a Cobra on the blue bike and then another on the red.
Image
Then to keep the changes happening and give me something to do, I took the 1/4 fairing off the blue bike.
Image
The latest mod was the shocks and then all that is left is the swing arm and this bike will be done. {Unless I upgrade my forks, wheel & brakes}
Image
So from almost three years ago to date, my bikes have gone through some serious changes.

This is a cool thread. Nice job on your bike Ray. I have a buddy that ran a shop for decades and he had done many restorations, race bikes, and Hot Rods. I was in his shop once taking pics of several completed projects and I took a pic of a box of parts he had taken in in exchange for work on another bike. It was an early 60's Norton completely disassembled. He said what are you wasting film on that junk for. Eventualy the box of junk ended up a wonderful conours quality restoration. When he saw the pic of nothing more than a box of junk, it became clear to him why i had "wasted film" on that junk. It had never occured to him how cool it would be to have a before and after pic. While your bike was nice before you began, it is cool to document it's evolution.

Pont and Moto, your rescue projects are awsome as well, it is so cool to see examples of the work of the guys I have been chatting with. Those St Pauli Girl posters bring me back to a birthday celebration in the early 80's. Way too much fun that night to feel good the next day!

My Turn
Need to do more internal work, cam chains, valve shims, and possible clutch.
I know the seat has got to go.
