I was searching Craigslist for CB900F's for sale, and came across this pitiful machine. Reminds me of people who take dogs or pets and chain them up in a tiny fenced yard or otherwise abuse their animals. It just LOOKS wrong.
CB900F Craigslist - with extra FEECHER
(Oh, and he also says it's an added benefit since it has 3 wheels, it's not a motorcycle, so you can get away with not having a cycle license. Whoohoo! Ought to have a mental aptitude test for some folks before they are allowed to buy a bike...)

I would go around left hand corners really hard and try to get the trailer tire up off the ground. |

Personally, I think it is a bitchin ride and would work well for carrying my tools to go and work on one of the So Cal F'ers bikes instead of me making them come here.
I would never do that to one of my bikes but, if the price was right on that {which it is not even close} I would buy one. |

You mean right hand corners I don't think the sidecar wheel would come up in a left hand turn, no matter how hard you would go around... |

not so!
i rode one of these for the year i was in beijing:
turn hard into the sidecar & you'll lift the rear wheel
turn real hard into the sidecar & you'll turn right over... which lifts the sidecar wheel
...ask me how i know |

most nice sidecars I've seen have suspension to help get around corners. |

OK, ladies: I'll bite.
Yes, you can ride a sidecar on the 2 motorcycle wheels only. I perfected this technique on my first sidecar outfit, which was (of all things) a Suzuki RV90 that we used on the orchard.
You just ride along with the bike at about 45 degrees, rather than vertical, most of the time. It's sometimes a bit of a struggle to get the sidecar wheel in the air to start with, but easy enough with a twitch on the handlebars and a well-timed weight shift.
Goes down a treat at Gold Wing rallies... |

well, getting the sidecar wheel up turning left (go going straight), that's easy...
so once i turned real hard right & found my rear wheel up & the bike on its front wheel & the sidecar wheel
thinks... "this is fun"
does it again, & again, harder & faster... still thinking "this is fun"
until idiot does it too hard & the entire bloody thing goes arse over elbow & you end up under half-a-ton of hot chinese metal in the middle of a chinese road with hundreds of chinese people laughing their chinese arses off at you...
i taught them a few australian swear words that day |

Back in the early 80's the learner laws changed in the UK so that learners could no longer ride for ever on 250cc bikes but had to ride restricted 125cc's AND pass their test in 2 years [now even more rules & tests!]
Well the way around it [then] was to fit a sidecar as it circumvented the 2 year rule AND the capacity limit [IIRC] : Disaster you might think as all these unexperianced riders killed themselves on three wheels [on left and right hand bends]
So nature filled the evolutionary void and someone marketed a "sidecar" called a "sidewinder" which was a fibreglass tray mounted on a stick with a wheel at one end and an attachment to your motorbike frame at the other - the attachment articulated so the stick could move up and down but not back to front...... Voila : A bike you could lean with little of the normal sidecar downsides [or benefits!] BUT THAT YOU COULD LEGALLY RIDE AS A LEARNER!!!!
Sorry I couldn't find an image but bizzarely the first hit on Google UK was a company making a leaning full sized side car - site has an animation if interested but they won't let you rip/link it! |
