I went out for a little ride today. Everything was great the sun was shing and the temp was perfect for checking out a local canyon. Sounds like the perfect ride......
Then it happened a cop pulls in behind me. I have been slightly speeding and figure I am sure to get a ticket. He follows me for about 5 blocks before putting on the lights. I pull over and sit there patiently waiting for him to come write the dreaded ticket....But he doesn't come he just sits there. Within a couple of minutes I notice 2 more cars pulling up behind me nad blocking off the road. This was not looking good. Surely they didn't need 3 cops to write me a ticket. Now I am no small fry I am 6'5 and well over 400 lbs Long Hair and tattoos...So maybe they thought they needed that many guys. Then it hit me.I knew why all the fuss over little old me. It wasn't a speeding ticket. This was a felony stop( not that I have ever been involved in one before ) He began to order me to get off the bike...I think...I couldn't really hear him so I pointed to my helmet.. He got on the PA and told me to take off my helmet. I did...Very carefully mind you these are california cops and some have been known to tell you to do something then shoot you when you do. After removing the helmet I was ordered to take the key out of the ignition and drop it on the ground....Then get off the bike and walk backwards towards the officers voice. I knew at this moment that there had to be at least 3 guns pointed at me.. As I got to the voice my hands were grabbed on top of my head and I was searched. Then they cop says "Do you know why I pulled you over?"
I say " I assume it is be cause some jackass robbed a bank and I matched the description"
He tells me I am right ....Now you saw my description above the only match was the long hair and the fact that the guy who robbed the bank rode a motorcycle. |

Been there, done that. The last time was when I was doing community service in a city park when they rolled up on me with 6 LAPD squad cars two in each all with guns drawn. I was on my face with guns at my head all because I looked just like the guy who just robbed a liquor store. They had a black and white survailance picture and the guy did look just like me but he was a good 8" shorther and 70 pounds lighter than me and the tattoos did not match at all so they let me go and told me to get a hair cut. |

me to..I was comming out of a park after swinging a metal detector ..Made a right and in the opposite direction passed a sheriff.
A quik glance in the rear view and he was making a U turn. pulled over removed and hands above the head pat down, sat on the curb for all to see while they rummaged through my used up truck.
Naturally they didnt come up with anything but soda cans and McDonalds wrappers but they did write me up for expired tags, warned me they could impound my car and was very lucky they were letting me go.
Still stunned i got home and looked at my tags, the month on the plate was DEC. well long story short the year change is in JAN not DEC. so they were still good and had to go find him to give him his ticket back.
That was a weird stop for a supposed registration violation. |

Mine was when I was 16 yrs old riding dads 75 cb550f around town, see a sheriff's car absolutely fly thru a stoplight I'm waiting at so I get nosey and follow. Heading out of town to see whats up the back of dads bike feels wierd, look down to a flat tire so I turn around to limp the 1/2 mile back to the edge of town to leave the bike and get a truck. About a block later and a city cop pulls up on the wrong side of the road to me and tells me that I was involved in the accident down the road. It seems there were two bikes that left a bar went about three miles out of town, switch bikes and come racing back when the fool on the V65 magna goes wide on a curve and hits a vega head on at about 130 and kills himself and the lady in the car coming from the grocery store and his buddy runs. Even though the other bike is a red GPZ1100 and I'm on a black honda with a fairing and saddle bags the cop is ready to take me down to the scene to the witnesses. By the time a cop comes by that knows my dad and straightens everything out there are two city cars and a state police car there blocking the whole road and I'm about to shit ( did I mention I was 16). The topper to it all is that when they figure out I'm not involved, every one of them leaves me there on the roadside with a flat tire, luckily a co-worker of dads happens by to save my day in his truck. Has anyone ever seen whats left of a bike after it hits a car head on at better than a buck thirty. The vega that he hit didn't look much better |

You can see that particular Vespa from the Hollywood movies with 30 mirrors on it over at Burbank Kawasaki. It is blue and they rent it to the studios for movies. That damned thing has been in the movies since the 60s when it was new. {I used to work there and had to hear the story from Leon the owner so I would be able to explain it to people when they asked} The last movie it was in when I worked there that you might know is "Austin Powers". |

I've been grabbed no less than 3 times, once when I was in highschool.
I don't have long hair or Tattoos and I'm not very big. I must have one of those faces. |

TMB & I were going to my grandmother's for Thanksgiving year before last (in the Caprice). We got pulled over by 2 marked & 1 unmarked KY state cops "for not signalling a lane change" after I'd done so with the blinker clicking away. They asked repeatedly whether we were carrying any drugs or weapons (we'd told them before they got alongside the car that we had carry permits & were armed). After a half hour or so they finally let us go.
Some of you have seen me, so you're probably not surprised. TB |

I was working late at the sound shop one night when the place next door, also a sound biz, had their silent alarm go off. First thing I know we are all face down on the ground with shotguns at our heads! Fuckers. False alarm. |

Well yeah, Telefunken U47 tubes certainly, and regular Neumann U47s, but there were also a couple of matched mint 1955 Neumann M-50s (not for rent) that have since been sold. There are lots of other old and new ribbons and condensers. Now there are all the new high end gizmos and digital consoles, ProTools rigs, monitors, fiber, cat5, etc. a pretty impressive rental inventory.
If you'd like the tour, I could arrange an introduction. I am no longer a regular employee there (I did my 6 years now I freelance), but I stay in contact, in fact just got off the phone with them. I'll be going in next week to exchange something.

What are you trying to say Leo, that my heart aint pure?
AJ, I have been shot at on two seperate occasions and been robbed at gun point in Long Island City, Queens back in the old cocaine days on top of all the other times cops have had their guns drawn on me. Guns being drawn or fired does not even surprize me anymore, especially here in L.A. |

I'll try to keep this short
back in 1983 I think, It was the last spring break in Ft Lauderdale before they put up the jeresy barriers to expand the side walk out in to the road
any how we had pulled in to lauderdale for a liberty port. We had been there maybe 3, 4 days.
Being the poor sailors that we were, we were running low on funds (cashed my pay check the first day in).
so that we wouldn't spend a lot of cash in the bars me and a buddy bought a fifth of jack and 2 liter bottle of coke. poured out enough coke to get the jack into and we were on our merry way
we were having a pretty good time caught up with some other shipmates and were going from bar to bar.
At one point we cut through a parking lot, apparently it was a secured lot cause they had a security gaurd in it.
Now this wasn't one of the brights security type gaurds and he gave us some sh*t and of course we returned the same, and move on.
some where a long the line it was back down to me any my buddy again and we decided to head back to the boat.
My buddy decides he needs to take a piss and heads down an alley.
I give em a few minutes or what seemed like more time then necessary to do his business. he didn't return so I go to see what happen to him.
he ain't in the alley anywhere so I go to the other end turn right back toward the main drag.
Up ahead I can hear music and such and say to myself hell if I was a drunked up sailor and heard what sounded like a party thats where I'd go.
I walk through this gate in to a court yard completely surrounded by a wrought iron fence. I see one light on through an open door and head that way. all over the courtyard there are people passed out.
I'm actually stepping over people.
I get to the door look in there are just a couple of guys in there and none of them is my buddy.
I turn to head back to the street and suddenly see all these cop cars and bikes cruising down the road. I go this looks cool wonder what the F is going on.
Suddenly some shout "there he is" and I look around and I'm the only one standing there, and all these cops stop lights flashing brakes screeching, and I'm standing there looking around trying to figure out who the hell they are looking for.
I mean it must be the entire lauderdale pd here.
next thing I know I have spot lights on me people yelling at me to get up against the wall the whole 9 yards.
They pat me down and start going wheres the gun.
I'm going, gun what gun what the f are you talking about.
They called the security gaurd over and asked him if I was the guy.
What a dick
once they figured out I was unarmed they let me go
then the butt f'ers wouldn't even give me a ride back to the boat.
My buddy was back aboard when i got there |

Yeah, Cops can be bastards! Here is one that went out of his way to help me and Disenchanted find a place to eat when we were in the middle of nowhere. Of all the nerve, the place had real decent food too!

I had my brush with the law in this manor when I was on spring break skiing my freshman year of college. I was driving a green 73 Lincoln Continental. Me and my roomie were headed back to our lodging with a buxom blonde for a little threesome, and next thing I know we are pulled over, and have 2 county sheriff deputies with their 9mm in our faces. Some biz in a nearby town have been robbed, and my car fit the description. They let us go within a few minutes, but ruined the entire plans for the night. |
