I did notice Gold Wing wasn't a choice... it's a possibility, as is a ZX-14. I might do another DOHC Honda, but I've been doing those for decades, just not Fs Shocked

I now really wish I'd gone for DaSleeper, I'll have most of the parts left over from my custom Custom to build another 1100, and can suddenly afford it. Confused

If I lived in Kamloops I would definatly be owning a Camal from your list.
Actualy a KLR-650 would be the cats pajama's.
But then I like the bush more than the highway any day.
Tie a chainsaw on there and you could make your OWN roads.. Laughing

I think you should consider a bike that can genuinely do ANYTHING. Wanna go 120? No prob. Wanna go to cambodia? No Prob. Wanna race in the Baja? No prob. Wanna tour all over the world, two up? no prob.

I'm sure that if you took the time to find out what it would take to import and register and insure a new bike you wouldnt need to ask.
The immisions tests alone would kill that idea..

Crap, good point. I totally forgot about this workhorse. People regularly go around the world on this pig. Its got a huge following. Not the worlds best freeway bike as mentioned above, but one of the most capable bikes around.... and if you HAVE to have a Kawi...

After WWI, in the treaty that all the OTHER nations signed (actually I take that back, that treaty actually ended WWI, which really pissed off Germany. They lost that war in a meeting), among a plethora of other things, its said that BMW (who was making aircraft engines at the time) was making engines that were too good for their airplanes therefore a threat to the rest of the world, so they made them stop.
The BMW logo is a prop spinning against the blue sky...see it?

So instead of airplane engines, they started building motorcycle and car engines. The whole no wheels crack was about planes...

Well, it's not a bad bike. In fact, it's a lot like the Sprint, only slower. Rolling Eyes

Seriously, test ride all of them if you can. Then, wait a week and see what bike you want to go back and ride some more, then get that one. Me, I'd go for the Sprint or the ZX-14. Or maybe the Sprint AND the ZX-14. Wink

Yep, but it is a heavily modified KLR. Multi-fuel motor - diesel, kerosene, JP8. Gets somewhere around 95 MPG from what I've read. The company that builds them is Hayes Diversified Technologies. They do sell a civilian version of them. Nice, but pricey.

They do use them, in the recruiting branch, making cool videos. Getting suckers to enlist thinking they going to be jumping sand dunes for their job. Honestly, I've never seen any living proof of any branch of US military use these KLRs or the Armstrongs they replaced.

I`m interested to see wot the `zines say about the new Bandit. It`s an all new water cooled FI motor.
From wot I`ve heard, the big Kaw14 is a disappointment for regular riding.
They say it`s a slug untill you get to jail sentence speed.
The new Yam. FZ1 looks great, but evidently doesn`t work as good as the previous incarnation.
I agree with "Dirty Harry", & know my limitations, so I don`t need the sharpest knife in the drawer anyway. I can go as fast as I need to on my old FJ12, & hopefully my 11f (when I get it sorted).
