1 1/2 yrs into this project and I am getting close .. to much of my dad in me to not do it right and take my time.
body work ready for paint:
not much left to bolt back on ... carbs, brake lines, header/pipe

Wow! 
Everything is so nice and shiny! I like all of the new black paint. Has everything been repainted? Forks, turn signals, etc? Or did you just find a way to clean it up so nice that it looks new? |

I don't recall ever before being impressed by a bike without any painted body parts.......But this one did.....very sweet! |

I've had a saying for 25 or 30 years now, meaning I sorta grew up with it: "If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it again?"
Beautiful bike, man. Now I'll have to do a search & check out what you've been up to, unless you tell me/us. Mine will never look that good, & I'm aware of it. Not unless I get sent to somewhere with a garage & cold winters. Good work. TB |

pretty much everything has been repainted. i used PJ1 plastic dye paint on the turn signals, rear fender and other black plastic parts. the forks and other parts have been repainted with satin black. thanks for the nice comments... i wasn't really fishing for them, just wanted to share my progress. i couldn't have gotten this far if it wasn't for the forum and all the great people that hang here. it provides me with technical knowledge and most of all inspiration. |

You're doing it right, John. That bike has a lot of years left in it. If periodically reconditioned, these things last a long time--might as well make them look good! TB |
