Sumbitch,
I thought that Yamaha was for sale? I hope it's a mistaken i.d.,..albeit, no one needs to check out like that. Shit!

Tony

edit: I am extremely sad to have read what appears to be the confirmation of this story. I have had more then one business transaction with Matt over the phone in the last three years and enjoyed both the excellent service and the lively banter which was I believe his normal way of doing business. I always put the phone down both satisfied in the business deal and came away with a smile from having gotten a bit of that Missoula aspect on bikes and life in general. I'm just a bit out of sorts now,..lost for words,....and maybe a bit pissed off,....damn this sucks. Matt, you have left a tear in the fabric of the universe!

I don't know what to say. My charging problem I came here to look up tonight seems pretty trivial now.

Regardless of whether or not it's a mistaken ID, somebody did check out like that. I hope it isn't Matt but even if it isn't, it sure puts a damper on the holidays. That's no way to go. My thoughts are with someone's family tonight.

For the love of God, say it ain't so. He was not identified as the rider in the story so there may be a ray of hope. That would be a tremendous loss for his family, his business as well as his friends here in the group.
I pray that it just isn't so...please don't let it be Matt.

That is a link to the KPAX TV website with the story and video on the accident. Nowhere does it mention or identify the rider. The video footage ain't pretty...

Matt@ PSB - God rest your soul!

He died doing what he enjoyed more than anything else..may he rest in peace with that thought.

We all just lost a true friend of the group.

DAMN! I just sent him a PM. (No, not Post-Mortem. Well, yeah.)
That just bites. Good shop owner, very knowledgeable, & from what I've heard, & my limited (e-)contact with him, a good man.
RIP, Matt. My heartfelt condolences to those of you who knew him as a friend. He's going to be missed.
Not knowing him well, I'll ask his friends: Did he have family? Can we help in any way? TB

For those in the area, please make sure to post any info, address for donations, arrangements, etc.. Does he have any family? Wow, what a major major shock...

Rest in peace Matt, we will all miss you greatly...

Matt@PSB Godspeed. You lived your life like there was no tomorrow. You took the trips and had the fun today instead of waiting for tomorrow. Peace be with you and your family. You are in our prayers.

He died doing what he enjoyed most and did not linger in a hospital. I know when my time comes, I can only hope it is as fast.

Matt, you will be sorely missed.

I'd been looking for valves from him and finally understood why he wasn't responding to PMs when he reported that things had gotten too busy and he had to check out of the website. Nevertheless, I got hold of him last week on the phone and despite all the craziness, he spent over an hour on the phone with me--somebody he's never met--and helped with advice (and the valves) that I never asked for but which he knew I'd need. I never talked with a friendlier person. Bless his soul--I hope this is all a mistake, but it doesn't sound good.

I hate this sinking feeling I get everytime another rider I know dies. Please be safe everyone.
