I just found the VIN to my original CBF and I thought it would be cool to see if it is still alive and owned by someone here.
The VIN is:
JH2SC1108DM004453
Post if you have it, or had it. |

You know of course all owners are now commited to posting their VIN. We absolutely must find 2 (or more) consecutive numbers. |

How about adding your VIN to your profile? I sold a 1981 900F in 1984 to a guy from New York. I have no idea how to find that VIN. I will check my 1100F tonight. |

Hey Larry,
is that 4454 a red or blue bike? Thats cool that they may have come off the line togather, or boat.
When was the VIN assigned? Did they VIN them here or at the production line in Japan? Anyone know? |

Larry,
the 4453 is my 1st CB. Wish I still had it. But my current bike (4191) was 40th off the line after your 4151 bike. We are close, unfortunate thats not geographicly too.
Interesting that the colors arn't in runs. |

Okay, I've collected 24 VIN's from here and on EBay for a VIN sequence database.
Stoutblock has the lowest with DM000115 and the oldest with DM006554 - both ends of the spectrum - interesting!
Let's pile the Vin's in here and I'll track them in an Excel spreadsheet just for the hell of it...and then post it.
Try to post your complete VIN !! Or at least from the SCxxxDMxxxxxx |

Great idea Spookf4e. This thread has been a good one. I hope my old bike shows up, but it could be anywhere by now.
Here is my current VIN JH2SC1104DM004191, in case you missed it. |

Cool idea to track all the bikes.

Spooke can you create that in the form of a webpage? If so let me know, and I'll create a space here you can have access to to upload and maintain it. (if you want)
Might look something like this...
http://www.cb1100f.net/VIN%20Tracking/index.html
No pressure though. |

If you do make a web page I recommend doing it with first name and last initial or something like that. It's a form of security, |

Anyon know if there is a method in this madness?
After looking at my "110X" piece I'm wondering why most others seem to be 1108 or 1107.
Okay so I'm stuck in the trivia. |

The letter X in that particular position is a computer generated vin check digit. 0-9 or the letter X. Note also that there is never an alphabetic I or O in a vin either. My stepmother says that my mind is a closet of useless information. It's better than having an empty one. |
