What I did on my summer vacation.

Some of you know that Ms. Love eats camchain tensioners like 79cb750f eats Little Debbie Zebra cakes. My original motor went to the sun and back with proper maintenance and without incident. While paying a visit to my partner in crime, the main tensioner relieved its tension by causing me some. All the fins on the left side of the motor were destroyed in "The Great Deli Incident" so, it looked like I was going to install an unbashed motor. Casting a narrow net, I found a player. Freebie out of a wrecked K model. Said Sheltonite donated the motor with a cheery wave. I then plopped it into a waiting Courtney Love and discovered yet another dilemma. Bad exhaust! Another Sheltonite lends me a surplus Vance and Hines. I start it up and it leaks oil at a rate of a quart per minute. Yup. Camchain Groove. UGH! I was contemplating raping my retirement fund to buy a leftover ZRX1200 and a new Lancer Evolution RS because my CAR had ground itself into scrap the week before. With tears in my eyes, my broker told me I couldn't take a $40K hit. Crying or Very sad

The next thing is to fix what I DO have. Galant goes in the shop for a $2000 touchy feely and I look for a motor. I find one. TheFox has his 750 motor lying on his garage floor. He's tripping over it after his 900 swap. I WANT IT NOW!!!!!!

$130 and a trip to Buffalo later, it's in the trunk, which a 750F motor does NOT FIT!!! The motor's patina corresponds quite nicely with the bike.

I paid more for gas than for the motor.

Hey we figured out how to get the F to fit in your Mitsu it just took a little creativity and think for a few hours you were up another 70hp in your cage.

a couple of tiedowns and that bad boy would've looked awesome on the hood!! good on you fox. you too mark. let me know if theres anything i can do at my end. not sure what i have here anymore but if i can help i will.

I've made that trip New London to Detroit via Buffalo on the 1100 back in 86 rained all the way from Mass to some where in Canada

A hell of a lot less patina now! First I hosed off the motor with parts cleaner and a brush, knocking off the major chunks of grease. Then I used Zep citrus upholstery cleaner on the motor and massaged it with a toothbrush to remove the stains. Then I took a can of spray bomb windex to it. Clean toothbrush and voila, the funk stays, the glop is gone.

Old motor coming out as we speak. Ride it home Friday.
