If is is possible to get black eylets and reservoir with chrome springs. This would look great on a black 900F and follow a closer OEM look. If yes, I will take a set!

colour?......first order is very small.........they are the blue and gold as seen in the first post......I have a feeling if this works we will go for something like a polished aluminum outer and a black spring. Piggyback of course. A note to all following this thread...i will be testing them first to make sure they will make everyone happy and the following list of parameters (not a complete list) are suitable or spot on:

- eyelet to eyelet 15inches (stock on an 11f is 14.25)
- internal clevis width - CBF
- mounting holes - CBF diameter
- spring wire diameter - marginally thicker than CBF
- piston diameter - thicker than CBF
- piggyback reservoir - 10 % larger than CBF

- slight downside - the clevis on the bottom is not tapped - you will need a bolt and probably an acorn nut for bottom attachment

- price will only change up or down if my costs change from a duty/tariff , shipping or production cost.....

Please keep the input coming.....who knows what we could have produced if the need is there........cheers beerchug

I like the black spring idea but I do love the gold reservoir....... match my rims Very Happy

Personal preferece would be the gold anodizing. Gold anodize always looks good. Black springs would also be nice but the dark blue isn't bad. Either way this would be my preference over the light blue anodize with the red springs.

As far as performance goes, even if they work half decent they gotta be better than my 25 year old blow-out boncers.

So, how/when/where do we order?

I've been desperately looking for a chinese alternative to paying $1000+ for a set of rear shocks. I like the Black and Gold.

Plus they have to be better than the originals I'm still running after 100,000km

What is the hex "nut" at the base? Can the clevis be removed and replaced with a slightly longer one?

Will the reservoir clear the frame for those that move their mount point forward?

How much would you charge me to ship to Melbourne, Australia?

let me do my best to answer all of your questions

1. the hexnut is to acomondate alternate mounting systems - IE. non clevis type ends - and about changing the length....i am not sure if an elongated clevis is how that would be accomplished

2. As far as the clearance of the reservoir for non stock applications I do not know because at what point on the frame are you placing your top mounting point.....tell and we will examine that once the samples are in my hand

3. shipping for OZ will be approx. $70 dollars Canadian.....if its less you will be credited with the lower rate....

Put me down for a set. I still have the original shocks on mine. I prefer the stock look with chrome springs and black reservoir but I would buy the fake Ohlin colour combination also.

If the general feedback is positive, I'll be up for some (saves buying twenty year old Konis and convincing myself its an improvement)......

If we can get a choice of clevis or fork that would be great too (ZRX1100 swing arm on an F to support).

I like the choice of colours you've got, although the black and gold look classic (classy). Would anodising to order be feasible?

Excellent work in pulling this together!

By the way, there's meant to be someone in China manufacturing replacement Comstars, how about tracking them down so that we can get Gold, Silver and Black (or any other colour...) anodised Comstars in 17" and modern widths (3.5" front, up to 6" rears)?

you are refering to the reverse boomerang comstars I gather?.....I will assume such and will look into it.....this may take some time..... Cool

I've thought along those lines to Max.
I was thinking maybe just getting the outside rims made and drilling out the rivets so we keep the centres and re-fixing them to a new wider rim? then again I guess if the whole lot was manufactured to suit new discs and all that might be better still. Smile

Mark,

A mate (CBXs) and I spent about 6 months trying to find suitable rims for exactly that purpose. However, we couldn't find anybody making rims as standard that we could use. Obviously, we could get rims either custom made, or modified by Kosman (for width only).

Additionally, we would be limited to the wheel size of the original wheels, which means we would be stuck with the choice of 16", 18" and 19" fronts and 17" and 18" rears.

That would mean that (rims being available), you could do something about the rear, but you'd still be compromised at the front.

The only other solution I can visualise is that of using appropriately finished Astralites, which share some of the construction look, but I'm not made of money .... Confused
