Very sweet bike. I got my wife a 900 Monster with a 944 kit and all Carbon Fiber bodywork. A ton of fun to ride. At least I remember it was, she has not let me ride it for quite some time. LOL |

This is a sad story.... I would be stealing the key at night and while she was at work....
Anyway, I love monsters... from when I first saw one, but I don't know about this bike, it seems to alien to me. |

I'm not right up to date on my italian superbikes but that is one wicked cool looking bike. I'd drive that even if the rattling clutch and what not drove me nuts. Kinda looks like an oil cooler hanging off the front cylinder head tho..no? Looks like that could be easily plugged with debris emitting from the front tire...i dunno. Kinda funny place for it think. just my .02 worth. Probably not even worth that much wit the exchange. |

I agree with you. I think a longer front fender would help it. |

tell you what, never sat on a more comfortable bike. This model, the S4R with the 1000 cc testastretta engine goes for about $10.5k...I might be able to justify that in a few years...but unfortunately not now seeing as how I already have about that much debt from school and living
The one I sat on was actually the 800cc model and it comes in this beautiful orange with an off center black stripe...absolutely stunning. that one goes for $9k. |

I am looking at the S2R too, only mine would have the white stripe. I love that blue/white combination but they only offer it on the S4R which is not only too expensive but also probably too much bike for a relative newbie like myself. |

Those are very cool bikes. My sister in law has one and it is very fast as well as being one of the best sounding v twins I have ever heard with the pipe she has on it. The one big drawback to the four valve Ducatis is maintance. My wife has an older two valve Ducati 750 ss. Not only is it a blast to ride but it has proven to be very reliable and easy enough for me to do all of the maintnace on myself.
The four valve Ducatis are a lot harder to work on or more expensive than our shim over bucket Hondas. Personally, if I were going to buy a new Ducati Monster it would be one of the air cooled motors. They seem to be a bit more home mechanic friendly. |

I would imagine the Air cooled would be lighter too eh?
Although the idea of being able to sit still for longer periods of time would be nice. |

I like that paint job. I think I might steel it. But change the colors a little. |

Ratfink, you need to go to the Duc site right now and look at the red/white Testastretta model of the same bike. You'll have a H.F.S.!!! moment.
But if I had the money to throw around, I think I'd buy the GT1000, or one of the other "modern classic" series. |

Love teh simple but beautiful paint. Not so much the color. Red is nice but you see it all the time. Yellow stands out and looks fast. |

Impossible to do... She has a trained attack dog guarding the bike 24-7. The dog would feed on your Lungs!!!!
