Anyone know anything about Murdoch Racing Enterprises (M.R.E) located in Safety Harbor, FL off of 9th Ave North between Harbor Lake Drive and Cedar St.?
Are they still in business? Fax is disconnected, no one answers 1-800# or the other business line. No answer to e-mails?
Anyone close in this group that could swing by there and determine if the place is in or out of business?
They either owe me some parts or some money and my patience is wearing thin - not a good thing, I assure you.

MRE make the lock up clutch for the Honda drag racers (and other goodies). mrmike has had dealings with them, but I do not know how long ago that was. He may be able to provide more info. Here's the web site ,...but of course you have this info. already.

Tony, appreciate the insight. You're right I already have that info from their web site. I realize on the weekends they might be racing but someone should have the courtesy to send shipping/tracking numbers on a sale or at least drop buyers a note on expected delivery.
I could have driven there 10x's and back already - and I paid the high dollar for postage (2-3 business days). Guaranteed, it will be the last business I do with them - if they are even still in business.
If no contact or part by Wednesday, I'm going to set some wheel in motion. This is BULLSHIT !
I'm not a happy camper!

I have dealt with MRE in the past but not recently, so I afraid I cannot be much help. I have not heard that they had gone tits though. As I recall the whole business are avid racers and fans so it was not uncommon for the shop to close while a race was attended and it is Gator Nationals time.

That (being Gator National Week) is the one saving grace to my current mood regarding doing business with them. If I had put 2+2 together, I would have asked them to just bring the stuff to Gainesville and I would pick it up there rather then waiting until my kids have grandkids -
I had tickets to Gainesville for the Nationals, but passed them out to several Technicians and a couple of Shop Foreman throughout lower Alabama - they get into drag racing a hell of a lot more than I do...
We'll see what happens. I'm going to wait until Wednesday to see if the package arrives - then make some more phone calls and see what transpires. Waiting since the 6th (well before the Gators) until now...is a bit of a stretch, especially when uou advertise 2-3 days delivery.
A little message or a shipping notice would have been nice.....it's called business courtesy.

Update: Seems that MRE posted that they had this particular item when in fact they did not. Evidently their supplier told them they would have one to send to them and then found out there was no inventory - they would have to order it to supply it to MRE.
So, instead of dropping me a note stating something or anything to that effect, they just let it ride and then left for the Gator Nationals. So for MRE it was no problem - they had my money in the bank and they would get the part eventually and send it out. I'm just a customer; I'll get over it.
Spoke to them today and got the story and as if by magic my part just happened to be there this very day and was going to be shipped this very day - go figure.

Spookf4e,
I'm having the same problem with them. I purchased something on the 2nd and I still have not seen it. Yesterday they told me it would be arriving later that day.
When I call today, It's not there. What gives! I'm calling them tommorrow to follow up. I want satisfaction!!!

I'm having a chuckle to myself here guys. At least your not dealing with Spec II
You may or may not remember this thread about Telefix fork braces.......
http://cb1100f.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=17904
.......yes? That was Nov 25th "05" when I first questioned Spec II about the 900F brace. Well for the last four months or so I get a call from Jerry at Spec II wondering if I still want a brace or not. The last call was two weeks ago saying that one would be shipped ASAP, albeit, it would be a chrome one that a customer returned un-used because he did not want chrome. So I say "Sure send it out!". No brace, no tap on the card account,..nuttin! This guy is killing me fer crying out loud. And you should hear the song and dance on the phone,..he'd never make it at the call center or get near the sales man of the month. I doubt I'll ever see the brace, but that's o.k. too.

Message "today" from MRE - (remember I talked to them yesterday and was told it was there and sent out yesterday...
"Sincere apologies for the delay in processing your shipment. I won't even bore you with the lame stories of supplier issues, sick kids, sick me and two events out of town. Bottom line is that I've had issues with this auction like I've never had before. All of which I do know are not any of your concerns, you just want your ignition! I've finally got it and it's on the way. Again, I would like to apologize for the delay in getting it to you and I hope it does everything and more for you!
Happy riding!"
Business with them (MRE) was a single event. Take that to the bank.

I'd rather go hunting with Dick Cheney than go for a ride with Ted Kennedy. Right Mary Jo?

spookf4E,
You are scaring me! Here is the reply I got this morning:
"Sincere apologies for the delay in processing your shipment. I won't even bore you with the lame stories of supplier issues, sick kids, sick me and two events out of town. I hope he did get 2 of this items and actually ship them. Please post if you get it and I'll do the same. Maybe working as a team in this issue will benefit us.
Reagrds,

That's some scary shit - word for word duplicate apology statements....arrrrrhhh!
Wonder how many people this clown had to apologize to because he sat on the orders and then went racing. Damn, he could have at least changed a few words in the different apologies!
When I reached him on the phone the other day, he said he was afraid to open his e-mail and I understand why.
Well kids...it's racing season so be careful what you order from these clowns. It may be the end of the seasnon before you see it - but they have your cash!

Spookf4e,
I did receive an email from Paypal shipping stating the following:
"Dear Ed,
Your package will be shipped by PayPal Shipping with U.S. Postal Service!
James Regan used PayPal Shipping with U.S. Postal Service to create a shipping
label for your package. Once the package is given to the Post Office(tm), it
will be on its way to you!
You can track the package online at:"
When I click on the link it only states (USPS):
"Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received"
this doesn't mean he has one or is shipping one though! Did you also get the same message?

If it makes you feel any better, USPS tracking is useless. I have seen that message a week after the package is in my hands. |

Friday - March 24th - still nothing. I called "Jay Regan" @ MRE and he said he personally took the purchase to the USPO on Monday. Hmmm, I paid the high dollar for 2-3 day delivery and we're into the 4th day. I did did a USPS Tracking # from him - but read this:
Label/Receipt Number: 9101 1501 3471 1415 3402 14
Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received
The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper or shipping partner on March 21, 2006 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.
It's not bad enough you have to contend with the original apology from MRE - but now you get abosultely nothing based on the USPS tracking number.
Take Note: Cyclepartzguy is Jay Regan is MRE. They have other parts including a Dynatek 2000 system:

CB750-CB900-CB1100-IB_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ35594QQitemZ4625273282QQrdZ1
I'd make damn sure it was IN STOCK before I sent my money and get some sort of guarantee some "racing weekend" wasn't going to interfer with getting it shipped out....

My order finally arrived this AM (Saturday 25th) nineteen days after they signed for the USPS Certified envelope with the Bank of America certified funds inside.
Got a big kick out of the attachment on the package - asking for a positive feedback on the transaction. He hasn't entered his yet - I guess he's waiting on me?
Hmmm? Nineteen days to get my parts. No communication unless initiated by me. No shipping number until I requested it. Went racing and let my order sit. Sent lame apologies to myself and another member of this site "verbetim" (could have at least changed some punctuation).
Not real inclined to do business with them again - I got parts from England faster than I got them from MRC and they are located in the same state as I am!
