Howzit all,
Turns out that the valves and the head on my RD are good, have just overhauled the head. the bad news is The pistons that the previous owner put in are standard 1100 F and are loose in the bore, the number two cylinder has a +/- 1.0mm sleeve fitted into the sleeve.
This was to repair the damage to the bottom of the sleeve from a thrown conrod. (you can see the honing marks from when they fitted new rings recently, They also fitted new cam chains and tensioners)

SHIT What people will do to sell a bike......In all my years of working with engines this is the first time Iv seen this type of repair....Any body else seen a sleeve in a sleeve before.

Have fitted a good second hand sleeve and am waiting for my wiseco K1123 kit.
When Im finished this engine will grunt.

beerchug Time for a beer
Cheers for now Cool

Massey Furgeson 1085. I'll go over building a tractor engine real quick, the rebuild kits come with new pistons and liners, so you have to pull the old ones out of the engine. The 1085 uses a dry sleave like the air cooled bikes and they are a pain to get out. This was the first one we did and the tourch went through the liner and into the block. Now the engine is out getting the cylinder rebored then a liner will be dropped in to fill the gap, then the piston's liner will drop in.

As far as I know there is no inhearent problem with this setup. Anyway, good luck on getting it the way you want.
