Just returned from another trackday with the CB900F. IA buddy of mine with an 1100F went but took his SupMo XR650.
I had him ride my 900 one session so I could hear the pipe and see it run. I followed on my ZRX. He really liked it and is now fired up to paint his 1100F. This brought up a few questions.
1) My stock rear tire size looks silly with my bobbed rear fender and longer shocks. Do we know if a 140 tire will fit without rubbing?
2) He wanst to paint his 1100 Solid black and I sweare somewhere I saw a picture of a black F with a stock looking HONDA decal like on the early 900F but in Silver gray. Any Ideas on where to find this color decal?
Many Thx!

Q#2: "Dirty Mary" is all black with gold mag wheels, Stoutblock is the owner. The one you may be talking of could be FasterSpiders #1 Super F. 750 chassis with 1123 motor,..CR-S, V&H (at the time), CBR wheel package frunt and rear. This one was taken out by "the Phone Whale" as I recall.

I had a 140/80-18 on my 82 CB900F and the ride hieght was a bit too much for anyone but me to sit on but it did not touch the chain or the drag link.
AFE will have all the decals you want. |

Is this the one?
If so, that is a Euro paint scheme.
That is jon's bike. |

I heard about the sound of that 900 at Buttonwillow last year when you were there with CaPete and the ZRXOA gang. CaPete said it was the best sounding bike on the track. |

I have one of those tanks (off a Bol d'Or) with the blue stripe. The rest of the bike is going to be solid black. TB |

Wait a second, I was under the impression that a 1982 cb900f could only go up to a 130 without rubbing. Now I have a brand new 130 and I find out that a 140 will fit??? Is this true?
If thats the case I will put the 130 on my 750k and buy a new 140. I just need this to be confirmed before I go throw money away. |

The previous owner of my silver 900F fitted a 140 and it clears with no problems. This is not to say that it's the best choice for the stock rear rim on a 900F.... |

It would be all for the looks... What size are you running are your 900 now? How much did it change the handling?
I wouldn't think there would be much of a difference between a 130 and a 14o. |

I have been hunting for those same European decals for over a year and only found them one place over seas. Damned if I can remember the site, but they were quite expensive, I remember that!
Larry painted his 1100F all black with a yellow decal set.
Big-ass bumble bee. Looks cool!
If I remember correctly, he had to special order these and it took awhile. He had to rattle the cage at AFE a couple of times to get them on the ball, after he placed the order. |

I can corner a lot harder on a 130/90 than I can on a 140/80. You need to run your own tests. Remember not to be biased like the tires are. It is about function not form. I do not care for the feel of the 140/80 one bit in the corners: I took it of after a 1,000 miles & threw it away. Your results may vary.
We be tawkin' stock rim sizes here. |

Found that site where I first located those European decals that are on Jons bike.

Good luck! |

With stock 900 wheel, the Avon AM18 14070V-18 no way fits. It rubs the brake stay rod. Between the 130-80 and the 140-70, its night and day.
Tomorrow, my bud Mark who used ot work at a Honda shop back in the day will use his press and a fixture he made up long ago to "flatten" the inside edge of the tubular brake stay rod.
He will use his stock oval cross section brake stay rod off of his CB1100F if he doesnt like the looks of the modified 900 piece.
THEN the big momma 140-70 will fit. the swingarm itself has plenty of room, its the stay rod. |

If it's the race baffle, I know it sounds great. Larry had the large race baffle on his 1123cc monster at the Hoot this year. Other than that I haven't seen or heard a Kerker pipe with the race baffle since the mid 90's. |

Al, are you going to have your 900F at Willow Springs (and yourself?) at the end of April with AHRMA? |
