is it possible to F overload?

i think i just did. i got my 900 just the way i wanted, except i wanted an 1100 motor. found a great running 11 rust bucket and realized, why not have two bikes? leave the nine alone. so i started collecting parts like a mad man. f2 this, f2 that, side covers, gas caps, trick seat, tail panel, not to mention the 11 swingarm i never installed on the 9 because i found a metmachex, and now i just got another complete 11 minus block.

what the F am i gonna do with this stuff? i'm going to have two complete 11 wheels sets along with one really nice set of 9 comstars. at least two 11 swing arms. at least two, maybe three sets of 4 into 1s. i'm think i'm starting to see a serious problem developing here. how many of you have gotten this sick and how have you recovered? Confused

I sold my extra 1100F wheels and all kinds of stuff. Idea

Recovery from this addiction requires a 12 step program as follows:

Step 1 - Find items and accessories that you want to add to your F on Ebay.

Well if I need any parts I know who to ask...LARRYG is the name to remember.

I would like to be half that bad. but garage space is limited (this is why we are looking for a bigger chunk of land) and the wife says "4 guitars, 3 amps, stereo equiptment all over, computers, snow mobiles, tools, mountain bike, two motorcycles, and you want more motorcycles...we need a bigger garage"....I say....OK!!!

Along about step 9 or 10, you may have to adjust the method to account for falling over the coffee table or climbing back down from the refridgerator.... Embarassed

Wait until the weather starts to turn next spring. Or when guys realize spring is coming and they haven't gotten the winter bike projects done. You'll have no problem selling that stuff on eBay.

Well Larry, it sounds to me like you are preparing to ride a now 25 year old bike(s) into the foreseeable future. Parts hording is the only way to accomplish this. If the Old Lady is telling you you are loosing it explain to her the transportation logistical conservation ethics you have acquired that make you an exceptionally prepared man. It that does not work the build/buy a storage shed for the yard that will contain ONLY motorcycle spares stockpiled items. Remember that it needs to be 100% larger that your current space requirements. This way the neighbors & the Little Woman are preened.

Could be worse: You could be driving a soon to be 37 year old 4WD truck. I can't drive by a, dead in the yard, 69-71 Dodge truck without wondering who owns it & is it for sale at a reasonable price. Old vehicles are like Lays potato chips: "You can't have just one!"

I used to be into International Harvester Scouts but that got out of control & I had to quite cold turkey & sell everything off. Scouts or any other Corn-Binder vehicle require acres of spare parts.

Of course a viable alternative is to be like the vast majority of people & just buy a new vehicle every three years.
