Let me see,
1. Rabbit
2. Hit in head (full face visor) by large parrot - this is an ex-parrot, it has ceased to be. It was like being punched very hard in the face (except without the broken nose or teeth)
3. Hit a few other smaller birds
Near misses,
dogs and cats - a few in suburbs
had a kamakazi doberman try to take me out once - obviously was not a boldor fan.
kangaroos - not in the suburbs
rode at 110 km/h through a flock of 40-50 sheep at 2:00 in morning while half asleep
Nothing too spectacular though. |

German shepard on a borrowed FZR750. (not good)
Geese (multiple times)
Pheasant
Small bird from under a bridge (sparrow maybe?)
Water Moccasin (stopped right on it taking a water brake)
I think thats it.
The only one that put me down was the dog. Slid the bike onto somebody's front lawn and under their car. Dog didn't make it. |

Near miss with a deer and an oppossum. Hit by a Robin in the forehead. Glad for helmets although it DID ring my bell! The worst was a VERY LARGE bumble bee that hit me right in the throat, thank God it didn't sting me. I saw it coming from a ways away just like slow motion. Ouch! |

How bout a near miss?
On route from Edmonton to Fort McMurray Alberta summer of 85 on Higway 63 north bound, my buddy on his Yamaha Seca 650 almost ran over a chipmonk. "How'd he do that?" they all ask.
Well I'll tell ya. We were motoring along about 120k when the little bugger ran out from the left side of the road. Billy, who was in the lead position, never even saw him,..but I did. That little sucker ran across the road, under the Seca, and keep on trucking. Ran right between the front and rear wheels on Bill's bike. What are the chances of that happening I ask ya!
Lucky sum-aba-ditch!

I haven't hit a living creature as of yet. But have a great story:
I had a deer run into me on a motorcycle. I was on a back rode going 45-50 mph and the damn thing came up out of the ditch that was over grown with grass. The head smacked into the front faring twisted forward and planted its shoulder squarly into my knee. I didn't lay the bike down and immediatly pulled over. Put the bike on the kickstand and turned to see if there was anything back in the road (parts etc.) Well the only thing back there in the road was the deer laying there. About then the Irish temper kicked in and I proceeded to run back and kick the friggin thing square in the ass. Much to my surprise/dismay it was merely unconcious and it proceeded to get up all wide eyed and make for the trees. I stood there and laughed for a minute thinking if that thing decided to kick my ass I could have done much but run.

German Shepherd mix on Slowzuki 125 - dog and I both went away shaking but okay.
Kamakazi rabbit that I thought I missed - my riding buddy said that after it came off me rear tire airbourne that he saw the little X's in it's eyes when it came by his head.
A Whipperwill - high speed, late at night, big feather explosion right on my upper chest...this is a longer story but let it suffice that you should be careful what you ask for because you just might get it...
I've hit countless bugs that I'm sure were the size of a Buick.
Several snakes that I managed to REALLY piss off.
I've had encounters with deer that have been sooooooo close...like less than 3 inches at speeds that were really gonna hurt...no contact with a bike yet though...
Now, I've got lists of things hit with various big and small cages that is pretty impressive...I even hit a retarded kid . That one was worth beau coup points... Only thing that beats retarded kids is crippled pregnant women....they're really quick... |

I had a great grey owl brush my helmet once. That bird was huge. I have come up on bald eagles as they feed on dead stuff. They take a long time to get airborne and you get a great look at there underside.
I have almost hit many deer. One that comes to mind was last fall on hwy 38. It was a nice 6 point buck and I just missed him. If he would have hesitated I would have smoked his ass end. Kind of slows a guy down for a while. |

I hit a possum not too long ago that was fresh road kill and almost went down. There was no avoiding it because it happened in the twisties.
I got blasted in the chest at freeway speed by a small bird once too. It almost killed me the little bastard. |

Hmmmmm. I ran over a squirrel the very first day I got my F in October of '79. Was showing off brand new to a friend, did a running burnout when I left. Rodent ran out at the last second about halfway thru 2nd, and that was the end of that (literally). I was pissed because I had to clean all the red sh_t off the bike. Coupla years later ran over jackrabbit late one night coming around a sharp turn fairly slow in the country. Was leaning over in the turn and there he was. Front end washed out heavy when I hit him, like an oil patch. I almost dumped bike good, scared the crap out of me. |

Was out one night road testing the wife's old CM400A, and hit a big porcupine. Did not see him until the last second (their eyes don't shine), no chance to swerve, so I just accelerated and bounced over him like one hell of a speed bump. Stopped him dead in his tracks - literally. You should have seen all the quills stuck in the front tire. |

I saw a road kill porcupine when I was on my way around this country last month, it was huge. I never saw one of them before in person alive or dead, glad it was not me that had the collision with it. |
